The San Jose Wolves won seven of their first eight games as an expansion team in the AIFA West. Omar Jacobs, formerly the quarterback of the Florence Phantoms, led the Wolves, throwing for 48 scores and 12 picks. Jacobs also led the ground attack with nine touchdowns. A.J. Bennett and Reggie Eubanks were the prime targets, combining to catch 109 balls for 1,702 yards and 35 touchdowns. The second half of the season did not go well, with an overtime loss at Wenatchee Valley and two drubbings by Wyoming. After three regular season losses to the Cavalry, the two squared off again for a spot in the American Bowl. Wyoming was again victorious, 57-37.
