The California Eagles joined the AIF's western division for the 2012 season. Unfortunately, the team did not last past five games. The team opened the year with a 47-31 loss to Ontario, but then got back-to-back wins against Arizona and Nevada. The team's final four home games were cancelled, as the western division fell apart early in the year. Due to the suspension of the Ontario Warriors, the Eagles reformed in June to play at Cape Fear for a championship game. The Eagles lost 79-27.
