The LA Cobras were an average team, and probably could’ve been great had the ownership been strong enough to carry them into the rocky 1989 season. As it stood, the Cobras never drew great attendance numbers and they would not get another shot. With a 5-6-1 regular season record, the Cobras made the playoffs and would lose at the Chicago Bruisers, 29-16, after playing to a 37 all tie the previous week in LA Arena football would not return to Los Angeles until 2000, with the Avengers.
