The Milwaukee Iron were a 2009 af2 expansion franchise. Tyler Donovan and Shane Adler led the team for the first half of the season, combining to throw 26 scores and 17 picks. The team produced two 1,000 yard receivers in Scott Burnoski and Antoine Burns. The team went 2-6 in its first eight games and 3-5 under the leadership of Todd Hammel. Eight intercpetions thrown by the Iron were returned for touchdowns. The team dug itself deep holes in games, being outscored 307-171 in the second quarter. During the middle of the season the team won four of six, but ended the year on a four game losing streak, missing the playoffs by two games. Following the 2009 season, the Iron joined the new AF1.
