The Gold Coast Stingrays franchise joined the USBL in 1986 and promptly finished at 7-25 in the inaugural season. The franchise became the Palm Beach Stingrays for the rest of its life. Unofortunately, the team only had one winning season in 1988; In their final two seasons, the Stingrays went 13-37.
