The Bellevue Blackhawks, despite a losing record, qualified as the #13 seed for the 2004-2005 playoffs. After pulling off a few upset wins, the team was scheduled to play Utah, the #1 seed, in a semifinal game. However, Utah decided to forego their playoff season and left the league. Bellevue got a spot in the championship game and lost to the Arkansas RimRockers. The team returned the next season, but was forced to cancel most games due to lack of finances.
