Every person will be evaluated in two ways. First, a finished art project will be completed by every member of the class. Also, each of you will be asked to fill out a peer evaluation form which will determine if your group worked as a team and acquired all the information necessary for this contest.
Evaluation One
After your group has finished the research and shared all the information, each person will be expected to create a portrait done in the cubist style on a piece of 8 x 10 white drawing paper. This portrait will only be a pencil drawing at first. Once you are comfortable with the drawing, it will have to be outlined in a sharpie marker so that it can be scanned into the computer as a crisp and defined image.
Once your image is scanned, you will use the KidPix Deluxe computer program to add color and pattern to your portrait as a cubist artist would do. You will then print out your portrait so that we can take them to the art gallery's owner who will determine if he can use them as a promotional piece for his opening.
For fun, you will also want to ask your teacher for a pair of 3-D
glasses to view your portrait while the image is still on the screen.
You'll be amazed by the effects that are created by the different color
choices you added to your picture! We will learn more about color
later this year in art class. To look at other 3-D possibilities
using the computer, check out the following site:

Evaluation Two
Use the following rubric for your peer evaluation. Each of you will print and fill out one form. All papers are to be returned to your art teacher. ( Evaluation Rubric)
