"... a secret revelation..."
by lu saldanha
there might be enough reviews about +live+'s fifth studio album already, but as much as its been for me, "V" has been a surprise to many of +live+ fans. today , i can say I like it more than when I first heard it, while before its official release. i became kinda addiucted to its vibe now and i listen to it in "daily doses", if i might say it like that, and i've been having it loud...while my flat mates , well...
as a big fan not only of +live's music but music itself, i've come to a point where i admire +live+ more than ever before. i believe they r building up a great carrer. it feels like it was 10 years ago when in 1992 - hehe , yeah it was almost 10 years ago- when the "rock scene" was full of fresh acts and then the press trying to labelling them as a movement, grunge, britpop/rock , whatever. and +live+ has been riding its own wave focusing in its own need of overcoming its barrers and limitations by breaking from pennsylvania's conservative status into putting decency and astonishing riffs with incredibly honest and passionate lyrics back to the american charts. they went diving into a black cave with secret samadhi, and instead of bringing a throwing copper II or three they have been exploring different directions within their own will, not being scared of letting go and surrendering to the music instead of rewarding the expectation of others...going deep and beyond, surprising even their own fans.
+live+'s main compromise has been their uncompromising
way of remaining a non-labelled band, their music is more like a tattoo in the invisible flesh of music.
chill dudes!
