Kato v. McGrath IV
In the 11-plus year history of the CWF, only three men have wrestled more than ten matches without ever being pinned.

On Saturday, August 6th at the Ridgway Rumble, two of them will square off as former CWF Heavyweight and former Mon Valley champion Kato (45-0-2) takes on former Mon Valley champion “The Future” Calvin McGrath (11-1-2).

Ironically, McGrath’s lone “loss” was to Kato. Both men have two draws on their record, and it goes without saying that the draws are a result of facing each other. Neither man has been able to pin the other, although Kato was awarded the Mon Valley title in a match against McGrath at Fall From Grace (9/22/07).

As stated in the CWF rulebook, Rule 13B 2.34A states that if a match cannot continue due to the referee’s judgment because of a happening to a wrestler regardless of the circumstance, the match will be stopped and a draw issued”. But the next sub ruling, Rule 13B 2.34B adds, “If a match cannot continue due to the referee’s judgment because of a happening to a wrestler regardless of the circumstance, the match will be stopped, a draw will be issued, and the wrestler capable on continuing the match will walk out as champion.”

The pair also met in the first annual Zubov Invitational Tournament at Mass inSINity (5/7/07), and they were both eliminated by time limit draw. They also battled to a Double Countout at Unfinished Business VII (2/10/07).

So what has Commissioner “Old School” Burt LeGrande done to make sure there is a winner? CWF fans are going to like this.

“There is going to be a winner,” he stated. “These are two of the most talented wrestlers we have ever had under contract and they are so evenly matched. Three times, they have done battle and neither man has walked away victorious. This time, there WILL be a pinfall, and there WILL be a winner.”

How had LeGrande decided this?

“There will be no countout because I have not implemented a time limit. There will not be a DQ, because this is a No-DQ match. Basically, anything, and everything goes.”
