Having started painting on a rainy day in 1998, quite by accident, Christine's work has grown from purely watercolor landscapes, to acrylic paintings and functional art as well.
"being a self-taught artists gives me the freedom to explore whatever medium or style that catches my attention."
With styles ranging from representational, primitive, impressionistic, and abstract, she strives to convey the emotion of the scenes and experiences that inspire her to paint.
"i began by trying to capture the personality and history of the local landscapes, buildings and farmsteads before the scenes were forever changed by development."
a glimpse of the fleeting beauty of seemingly everyday scenes can be seen captured in her paintings. since the beginning of my painting experience i've had the wonderful opportunity to be a part of several juried shows, solo and combined exhibits in Pa. as well as in Nantucket Ma. i've also had the pleasure of teaching and introducing others to the joy painting has brought to me her works are held in many private collections in Texas, Florida, Massachusetts, New Jersey and in her home state of Pennsylvania.
"the thought that someone brings one of my pieces home, as part of their daily life, makes me so grateful for the chance to bring enjoyment to others, and drives me to continue to create."
