Central Dauphin High School
Students Against Destructive Decisions

Welcome...

From the officers and members of the Central Dauphin High School Students Against Destructive Decisions, we welcome you to our page and appreciate your interest. This page is mainly informational where you will find the leaders of the group, the minutes from each meeting, activity updates, the group's constitution and by-laws, and anything else you may want to know about the group (more or less).

 Mission Statement...

Originally, the mission of the SADD Chapter was to help young people say “No” to drinking and driving.  Today, that mission has expanded.  Students have told us that positive peer pressure, role models, and other strategies can help them say “No” to more than drinking and driving.  And that is why SADD has become a peer leadership organization dedicated to preventing underage drinking and drug use by focusing attention on the potentially life threatening consequences of destructive decisions involving issues such as not wearing a seat belt, smoking, steroid use, violence, sexually transmitted diseases and suicide.

SADD’s Mission, simply stated is:

TO PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH THE BEST PREVENTION AND INTERVENTION TOOLS POSSIBLE TO DEAL WITH THE ISSUES OF UNDERAGE DRINKING, DRUNK DRIVING, DRUG ABUSE, AND OTHER DESTRUCTIVE DECISIONS.

So, just like anyone would, you are probably thinking to yourself, "Well what does SADD do?" The organization was created, the 2002-2003 school year being the birth date, to provide activites for students to participate in place of activities such as going to drinking parties. As this school year is the charter for future SADD groups of Central Dauphin High School, the group sets the precedent for activites. The activites are solely based on what the group wants to do (with administrative approval, of course).

Following are the CDHS SADD coordinators for the 2003-2004 school year. The idea was conceived over the summer of 2002 and endless phone calls and paperwork were completed to make this chapter possible.

Following are the SADD officers for the 2003-2004 school year. They were nominated by those who attended the introductory meetings run by the coordinators and elected by those people as well. The officers agreed that they understand and will carry out their duties as stated in the by-laws. They also signed a contract affirming they comply with the ideas presented in both the SADD constitution and by-laws.
