This applet is slightly different
in the way it is coded than most of the applets we have seen so
far. The applet allows you to add as many images as you like,
with little or no preparation
to them. They should however all be the same size. Borders may
be used, but they will also be subject to the transitions
effect. You will notice that the images are listed inside quotation marks in a different manner. If you add more images, you must be sure to enclose all of the images inside the quotation marks like this :
" {image1.jpg}{image2.jpg}{image2.jpg}{image3.jpg}{image4.jpg}"
Step
#1
Along with your images you will
need to upload the transitions class file to your website. You can
find this file in our Files Section at our Yahoo group
page.
Once you have done this, you
are ready for the script part of your applet. Remember too that
background files and music files must be uploaded to the website if you
are using the applet on a webpage. Otherwise those files should be
in your stationery folder in your computer.
Step
#2
For Stationery
Use:
<CENTER><APPLET codebase=" http://your website addy/"
code=Transitions.class width=378
height=317><PARAM NAME="images" VALUE="{http://your website
addy/applets/image1.jpg}{http://your website
addy/applets/image2.jpg}"><PARAM NAME="random"
VALUE="yes"><PARAM NAME="host" VALUE="javabase"><PARAM
NAME="key" VALUE="cacowcbu"><PARAM NAME="changeframes"
VALUE="40"><PARAM NAME="delay" VALUE="30"><PARAM
NAME="waitframes"
VALUE="50"></APPLET></CENTER>
For Webpages
Use:
<CENTER><APPLET
code=Transitions.class width=378
height=317><PARAM NAME="images"
VALUE="{applets/image1.jpg}{applets/image2.jpg}"><PARAM
NAME="random" VALUE="yes"><PARAM NAME="host"
VALUE="javabase"><PARAM NAME="key" VALUE="cacowcbu"><PARAM
NAME="changeframes" VALUE="40"><PARAM NAME="delay"
VALUE="30"><PARAM NAME="waitframes"
VALUE="50"></APPLET></CENTER>
Now you have all you need
to make this applet....
I can't wait
to see what wonderful
creations you come up with.
Remember that you must use a
codebase="your website addy" when using the applet in a stationery so that
the applet will work properly.
And as always, if you have any
questions, don't hesitate to ask Karen, Shari or any of the group members
for help.
Hugs,
Karen
