This tutorial is on the Durius Bump Applet
| ||
|
Step #1
The Durius Bump Applet has quite a different type of effect than those of the other applets. The applet is not a difficult one to make, requiring little or no preparation to the main image. However, choosing the image is the hardest part. You may use any image for this applet. No water is needed for the effect to work. Once you have chosen your image and made note of the dimensions, you are ready to begin the script part of the applet. Step #2
This is the script part of the applet. I have highlighted in
red the changes that you need to make. This applet is a touchy
one. It requires 5 files to make it work, in addition to the
image files. You can find these files zipped with a sniplet in the
Yahoo Files section. These files only seem to work if you upload
them to the main web shell, where the html files are stored. The
main image can go in your applets folder with no problem though.
For a webpage :
<CENTER><APPLET
code=DuriusBump.class align=absBottom
width=400 height=277 ARCHIVE="DuriusBump.jar"><PARAM NAME="cabbase" VALUE="DuriusBump.cab"><PARAM NAME="image" VALUE="your web addy/image name.jpg"><PARAM NAME="ambiencer" VALUE="250"><PARAM NAME="ambienceg" VALUE="250"><PARAM NAME="bumpheight" VALUE="320"><PARAM NAME="ambienceb" VALUE="250"><PARAM NAME="bg" VALUE="867FA5"><PARAM NAME="reg" VALUE="45140134"><PARAM NAME="light" VALUE="320"><PARAM NAME="lightsizey" VALUE="85"><PARAM NAME="lightsizex" VALUE="85"></APPLET></CENTER> For a webpage :
** Notice here again that you need to add
the codebase=" "
part when using the applet for a
stationery.
Without that part of the code, it will not
work.
<CENTER><APPLET codebase="your website addy/ " code=DuriusBump.class
align=absBottom width=400 height=277 ARCHIVE="DuriusBump.jar"><PARAM
NAME="cabbase" VALUE="DuriusBump.cab"><PARAM NAME="image"
VALUE="your web addy/image
name.jpg"><PARAM NAME="ambiencer" VALUE="250"><PARAM
NAME="ambienceg" VALUE="250"><PARAM NAME="bumpheight"
VALUE="320"><PARAM NAME="ambienceb" VALUE="250"><PARAM
NAME="bg" VALUE="867FA5"><PARAM NAME="reg"
VALUE="45140134"><PARAM NAME="light" VALUE="320"><PARAM
NAME="lightsizey" VALUE="85"><PARAM NAME="lightsizex"
VALUE="85"></APPLET></CENTER>
You may adjust the effect for a
different size light, or more or less light in your image by making the
value numbers smaller or larger. I would
suggest changing them and then viewing the effect before changing them
more. I hope you enjoyed making this applet. As always, if you
have any problems, feel free to call on Karen, Shari, or any of the other
members for assistance. Can't wait to see what you do with this one.
Hugs,
Karen
Another delightful musical rendition by NormaJean. Her piano
playing is simply wonderful !
