Star Applet
(twinkling)

This tutorial is on the Star Applet.  You can choose from a variety of images, with little or no preparation required.

You will need the star.class, stars.class and the bigstar.class files.  Thes you can download in a zip file along with the code sniplets from the Files Section at Yahoo Groups.  I have highlighted in red the code changes you will need to make below.

For Stationery Use :

<APPLET style="BORDER-RIGHT: #7e112f thick ridge; BORDER-TOP: #7e112f thick ridge; BORDER-LEFT: #7e112f thick ridge; BORDER-BOTTOM: #7e112f thick ridge" codeBase=http://your website addy/ code=stars.class width=300 height=405><PARAM NAME="bkimage" VALUE="http://your website addy /applets/image name.jpg"><PARAM NAME="bigstars" VALUE="20"><PARAM NAME="smallstars" VALUE="50"></APPLET>

For Webpages Use:

<APPLET style="BORDER-RIGHT: #7e112f thick ridge; BORDER-TOP: #7e112f thick ridge; BORDER-LEFT: #7e112f thick ridge; BORDER-BOTTOM: #7e112f thick ridge" code=stars.class width=300 height=405><PARAM NAME="bkimage" VALUE="applets/image name.jpg"><PARAM NAME="bigstars" VALUE="20"><PARAM NAME="smallstars" VALUE="50"></APPLET>

You may also make changes to the value of the
bigstars and smallstars .  And, you can delete the style="borders" as you like.

***Please note that the main difference
between the two codes is the codebase line
and full website addy must be used in the stationery code.

This one is rather easy to put together.  I hope you will enjoy creating with the star applet.  As always,
if you have any questions or problems, don't hesitate to contact Karen, Shari or any of the othere group members for assistance.  We will be glad to help you.

Hugs,

Karen
