From the Wilkes-Barre Record, Wednesday, 5 February 1964:

Mrs. Dorothy Zimmerman Malak, 49, of 188 Ferguson Avenue, Shavertown, died yesterday morning at her home. She had been under a doctor’s care.

Mrs. Malak was born at Larksville, March 11, 1914, a daughter of Mrs. Mary Curley (ed. note: should be “Kirtley”) Zimmerman, Edwardsville, and the late George Zimmerman. She was educated in Larksville borough schools and resided in Shavertown the last five years.

She was a member of St. John’s RC Church, Luzerne.

Also surviving are her husband, Andrew; children, Mary, Robert and Edward, all at home; Andrew, Jr., Kingston and Joseph of Edwardsville; brothers, Emerson Jones, Allentown; Harold Zimmerman, Edwardsville; sister, Mrs. Caroline Keene of Edwardsville; three grandchildren.

Funeral will be held from the funeral home, 672 Memorial Highway, Dallas, Friday morning at 9:15 followed by Requiem Mass at 9:45 in St. John’s Church, Luzerne. Interment in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Lehman.

Friends may call tonight, 7 to 10 and Thursday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 10 p. m. Rosary will be recited Thursday night at 8:15.
