The day of the Christmas Party
started with a snow fall, not knowing if the Bell Choir would show, we went on
with our plans anyway.
We
started the party with the exchange of opaltek with our fellow members. In addition to delicious appetizers, Sylvia
Rogozinski made her fabulous punch and egg nog, and we finished off with the
wonderful cookies and cakes baked by our fellow members. Thank you everyone for all your hard work
and donations.
As
part of our entertainment, Stanley Zaidel and Walt Wojociechowicz led us in a
sing-a-long of Christmas Caroles. We
also had a surprise visitor, Santa and one of his elves greeted each of us
personally with a Sarris’s Candy Bar.
Thank you Don & Judy.
I
look forward to seeing all of you at the next Christmas Party and hopefully the
weather will more favorable.
On Saturday, November 23, 2002, 15
Alumni members and guests boarded a chartered bus at the Prince of Peace Parish
Center and traveled to Akron, Ohio for the Carousel Dinner Theater Christmas
Show. After a noontime dinner (choice
of cod, crab cakes, veal parmesan, chicken, stir-fry and prime rib) we settled
down to enjoy the seasonal repertoire.
The show, entitled WOW, included ensemble singing and dancing, a
magician, ventriloquist, balancing act and song stylings in the manner of Frank
Sinatra. The singing was great, the
ventriloquist kept us in stitches and the variety of acts were well
applauded. When early evening came, we
left Akron with a Christmas song in our hearts, and, all agreed that the
afternoon was a great way to kick-off the holiday season.
