The Alumni of Saint Adalbert’s High
School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania will celebrate its 20th
Anniversary on November 8, 2003. Alumni
from all over the United States will return to Pittsburgh to celebrate this
very special event. Membership consists
of students of St. Adalbert’s Roman Catholic School on the South Side of
Pittsburgh which was operated and maintained by St. Adalbert Parish until it’s
closing in 1969.
Founded in 1983, the Saint Adalbert’s Alumni Association, Inc. is proud to say it was the first Catholic High School to be given a Non-Profit Status and to be incorporated within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The Association also receives Federal Tax Exemption under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code; is designated as a Charitable Organization; and qualifies for Employer Matching Funds.
Through our fundraising efforts there have been many benefactors that included the Make-a-Wish Foundation, Mom’s House, Women’s Center & Shelter, Prince of Peace Church & School (formerly Saint Adalbert’s), the Felician Sisters and Canevin High School.
Our greatest accomplishment has been our Scholarship Program. Since its inception in 1984, we have seen 96 young people benefit from our Scholarship Awards as they start their college education.
The commitment and hard work of all the officers and members have made the Association so successful. We have grown from 13 original members in 1983 to 275 members in 2002 and membership continues to grow.
We
are very proud of our Polish heritage and the education we received from the
Felician Sisters during our years at Saint Adalbert’s.
