Maude Thomas Shriver, 76, of 683 Race Street, Waynesburg, died suddenly at 10:30 p.m. Thursday, November 25, 1965, at home, as the result of a heart attack. She was born August 25, 1889, at Roberts Run, Gilmore Township, to the late Dennis and Barbara Braden Roberts. she married twice, her first husband, Asa Thomas, died in 1932. Her second husband, Jacob L. Shriver, died in 1943. She spent her early life in the Pine Bank and Nettle Hill areas and had lived in Waynesburg for the past 25 years. Surviving are the following children by her first husband: Mrs. Jake (Ruth) Huffman of Pine Bank; Earl of Gratiot, Ohio; Albert, Ralph and Billy, all of Waynesburg. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; one brother, Ed Roberts of Washington. One daughter, Grace, one son Edward, one sister Minnie and one brother Jess are deceased. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist church and the Hoover Run Grange.
