Johnson M. Moninger, 88, husband of Mary Ellen Ullom Moninger, of near Aleppo, died at his home, Thursday, Feb. 2, 1950, after a lingering illness. He was born Oct. 22, 1862, in Greene County, a son of John and Emeline Thomas Moninger, and was a well-known farmer. He spent most of his life in Aleppo Township. Surviving with his wife are seven children; Wesley, Benson, Don, Frank, Melvin, all of near Aleppo; Russell and Billy, of New Freeport, and Bert of Pittsburgh. One sister, Mrs. Frank Moore of Waynesburg, also survives. He was a member of the Centennial Church of God.

Obit from Benton County Record & Democrat & Sun 7/4/29 - Mrs. W.E. Phillips of Cross Road vicinity near Gentry, died June 21st at the age of 68 years. She was born Feb 26, 1861 in Cambridge, Ill. She leaves her husband, two sons and a daughter.
Obit from Gentry Journal-Advance 6/27/29 - An invalid for the past three years and following a stroke of paralysis, Mrs. W.E. Phillips, age 68 yeras, 3 mo. and 25 days, died at her home in the Cross Roads community near Gentry at 8:20 last Friday evening, June 21st. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the Congregational church, Rev. I.B. Ballmer, the pastor, officiating. Interment was in the Gentry cememtery with the Carpenter Bros. in charge, the services being attended by a large concourse of sorrowing ones who gathered to pay their last respects to a departed friend, neighbor and acquaintance. The deceased was born in Cambridge, Illinois Feb. 26, 1861. She was converted at an early age and joined the Methodist church of that city and remained amember until her death. She was united in marriage to William E. Phillips Dec. 28, 1881 to which union five children were born, two of whom died at an early age. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, two sons and one daughter, thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild, besides a host of friends.
