August 30, 2002 - Teresa Kisko - I was searching the 1920 census from Clinton County and found Mary Kisko's record along with Henry and Joseph J. and could not read the exact spellng of where they are from. Found that John Machuk's parents (Roman and Margaret) were from the same exact place so I called them. They Stated that they were from ZDIAR, CZECKOSLOVAKIA! This is what I thought Mary's record said, but the Machuk's provided the proof. John's wife also said there was a Rev. Clarence Benzella from Snow Shoe that goes to Zdiar every other year to visit family. She also said that there may be more records in Punxatawy, PA at Greek Catholic Church there.

A record from St. Joseph's, Renovo, PA shows an Anton Kacmovcik (with v obove the c's) born in Olsrowka Galicia. Died on Sept 28, 1924 and buried on 10/2/1924. died at age 51 of Chronic Eudo Covcletis? This spelling of the last name pretty well matches the last name of Mary's under the marriage record of Joseph Kisko and Mariam Puloski. Joseph's mother's last name showed as Moniarm Kavcuncik. The hadwriting was hard to read, but I believe these two are connected some how.
Bertha Brown speller Mary's name as Mary Gunchar. Says both Mary and Husband Joseph are buried in St. Mary's Cemetery in Bitumen. She also stated that they came from Slovakia in Russia. Bert also said that Mary died when "Chip" was a baby, so her death must have been around 1932 or 33?
Teresa Kisko- I found a record of Mary S. Kisko in the 1920 Census for Noyes Twp, Clinton County, PA. This record shows Mary being age 63, her son as Henry J. age 21 (single) and son Joseph J. age 19 (single). This record states that Mary came from Zdiar, Hungary. Record also shows her as head of household and son's occupations as coal miners.

Teresa Kisko has copies of the 1900, 1910, 1920, 1930 Census which show info about Mary and her children. There are descrepancies in the age of Mary on the Censuses. In 1900 it shows her as 38, in 1910 shows her as 55, 1920 shows her as 63. I believe that the 1900 record is the correct record, as it shows the birth month and year of all of the family.
1930 Census shows Mary age 74, head of household, married at age 25.
Information from Lawrence Lund show Mary's name as Maria Gamarcik. Tony Krisak (Ambrose's grandson) states he has Mary's (this Mary's daughter) baptism record that show her parents and a birthdate of April 29, 1890. 9/9/02 - E-mailed Tony to see if I could recieve a copy of baptism.
