One day there was a bean named Billy who had just become the newest bean in the garden. No one liked him because he was a different color of green than everyone else. The only time any bean talked to him was to make fun of him and scare him. All the other beans scared him by telling him that he was going to be eaten by the giants who lived in the huge house by the garden. These stories made Billy hide every time the giants came by. On a hot summer day the giants came into the garden and started to pick all the beans. As the giants came near him he tried to hide behind a leaf, but the giant saw him and reached down and picked him up. The giant then threw him into a bag. When the giants were done picking, they took the bag and went into their house. Billy was terrified. All the other beans were pushing and shoving. As Billy tried to move, the bag turned upside down and dropped him into a pot. The pot soon got hotter and Billy started to sweat. His body started to turn soft as he fell into a deep sleep.

When Billy woke up he felt really different. As he looked around he saw some weird brown beans. Then Billy looked at himself. He was brown too. Then Billy remembered hearing a group of beans talking about something like this. The one bean in the group said that when you turn brown you become a baked bean. Then Billy remembered the rest of what the bean said. Once you get baked though that means you get eaten. As soon as he remembered that a huge spoon came down and scooped him up. The spooned reached the giants mouth and Billy was shoved inside. At that moment Billy blacked out as the giants teeth came smashing down on some beans close to him.

When Billy woke up he was floating towards a light. Then he thought to himself “I must be in bean heaven.” As he headed towards the light he was hit from behind by a large gust of smelly wind. He was shot out into the light and as he was shot out a loud explosion came from behind him. As Billy looked around him he saw that he wasn’t in heaven. He was back in the giant’s house. He also saw a brown mist around him. As he got closer to it he could hear voices coming from it. As he got closer to the mist he noticed that he wasn’t walking, but he was floating. He also noticed that he was a brown mist too. He soon came to a little cloud of mist and it started to talk to him. They soon became friends. As they talked more the other cloud of mist told him that they had become gas and that’s what happens when you get eaten. From that day on Billy was never afraid again and none of the gas could make fun of him because he wasn’t different any more.
