I'm not exactly sure when I first met Devin. I know that I play against his team, the hurricanes when we played U12 soccer, but I don't think I ever talked to him then. I'm guessing it was my first year playing on the travelling soccer team. I guess that's pretty logical to think that even though I don't remember meeting him. It seems really weird to me now that I think about it that I have no clue how or when I first met him. Oh well, I guess I'll have to let that go by the wayside for now. I do remeber that I was in his lab group in Mr. Maslar's science class in 7th grade. So maybe that was it, but I don't think so. I think soccer was before that. So Devin is a pretty good friend. Personally I think he's one of the hardest working people that I know, which is really impressive to me. The stuff that he said he put up with while he was working at a farm in Dayton and the amount of work he put in with the hours he worked was pretty amazing to me. So that's one of the traits that he has that makes him different than a whole lot of people. A whole lot. I pretty much got to know Devin through soccer. All the talks and stuff on the soccer bus. I really remeber the one soccer bus trip with Jake Musser. Oh man, I laughed so hard that night that my head hurt for a good while after. Jake was telling us a story about how he wrecked his fourwheeler which really wasn't that funny, but eventually Devin and I got him to change his story, and he kept going back over it again and again changing it and we just kept making fun of him. I know, it wasn't very nice at all, but it was completely hilarious. We eventually got him to cry at which point we stopped making fun of him, but we kept laughing. That was a pretty good time. Then in 11th grade we had P&A together and were at the same table. That was a really good time. We had so much fun in the class. I'll deftly always remeber how Choady got stuck in our group even though he really didn't want to be in our group. He knew why, because he knew we'd make fun of him. Oh well, he made it too easy because of not wanting to ever help with anything we did. So we always made him wash out the tray whenever we were working with the cats. And then senior year we were in the same home room and always talked during PM homeroom. We had Julio in there too so it was always a good time. Even though Mrs. Smith would always give him the shaft for no good reason. I still have no clue why she didn't like him. Oh well, guess that's how it goes. But all the little drinking/camping nights up on Putneyville hill was always good even though Devin was always so damn tired from work. And the party at the hunting club was the best time I've ever had when I was drinking. It was his birthday and he smuggled some Peach brandy from his grandpa's house and brought it down for us. We had lighter fluid and poured it all over the ground and made designs. And then in a drunken stooper, I put my arm around Devin and sang happy birthday to him. It was a really great time. I really miss hanging out with him. He's in the Air Force now so that's good. It'll be cool to hang out with him again. But a few words for Devin: Thanx for being such a good friend man. I know we never really hung out that much outside of school and soccer, but we still had out good times. There's been hard times for you as well and I'm sorry that you had to deal with some of the stuff that you had to have in your life. But then again, it really impresses me that you handled all of it like you did. That's something else that makes you a really great person. I hope you're doing alright in the Air Force and stuff. I know Stephanie is still waiting for you. I'm trying to make sure she's behaving herself. Haha, I know she is cause she cares so much about you. So I hope wherever you're headed in life, you get exactly what you want. I know you will cause you always work hard for it. Thanks for all the good times. It's been a blast.
