It is time for children in this country to be treated as though they are human beings, rather than the way we have seen them treated throughout history. Although child abuse is not as widespread and common, as it has been in recent decades, emotional child abuse remains an undetected factor in most cases. Many children suffer emotional abuse as a result of other forms of abuse but emotional abuse deserves its own category. Until professionals, on this subject, have reached a consensus on the definition of emotional child abuse, it will continue to harm the psychological well being of children
