Dios mio.

Well, in case I haven't written this yet, I'm home, and it's wonderful. I am beyond happy to be here. I got to surprise Meghan, Bill, Bonnie, and Jake with my return on the day I got back, which was the 6th. It was awesome. Jake, Meghan, Rachel, and Gina all came over to watch Phantom of the Opera the other night which was sweet. We acted like we always do. Yesterday Jake, Bill, and Meghan were on hand as we went to Italian Delight, South Street, and Tom Jones Diner, where we were joined by Bonnie. We ended the night on the swings at the park near Bonnie. It doesn't get much better than that my friends.

As far as the previously mentioned family news goes, things aren't looking so grand.

I'm hoping to get down the shore soon. That'll be a good time.

I start back up at Applebee's on Thursday. I hope it's not busy so I can ease back into things. I am really enjoying my current laziness, I haven't gone this long without work or school since the summer of 2000.

Pink Floyd is friggin awesome, been listening to them a lot since Live 8. Them, the Beatles, and Green Day. I've been listening to all three more since the show.

I am at a crossroads. Yep. Not sure which way I'm headed just yet.

Which reminds me of school. I need to work harder at that stuff. Bring the GPA up a bit, it's at 3.0 right now and I know I can do better. Gotta narrow down a major too. RTF is looking nice, I've never seen myself as an office type, so I think this will be a snazzy direction. We'll see. There's always the (very slim) hope that I'll get out of Rowan before graduation, but who knows.

Well, that about wraps it up for now, I'm gonna get around to unpacking and watching a movie.

Live 8 and surprises
Mood:  crushed out
Now Playing: Tell Me Why by Annie Lennox
What a week.

Last week family was down in Disney. It was wonderful. We all had a great time and it was just so awesome seeing them all here in Disney World, reminded me of how good this place can be.

I've been spending a few days with my grandparents on the Gulf coast. It's awesome. We went to the Dali museum, but havent gotten any beach time in because there's a red tide. That means there's some bacteria in the water killing all of the fish. There are dead fish everywhere, including sharks and stingrays, and it reeks.

I'll be back to work soon enough, working hard for the money.

Live 8 was incredible today. God, i wish i couldve been there. I hope a DVD comes out soon, the performances were simply amazing.

And now, for the downer. My Granddad has beaten two forms of cancer, and one of them seems to be coming back. So he went to the ER where some piece of shit doctor without running enough tests to make a significant diagnosis told him he's dying. So now, even though his ostrecian (sp?), a more qualified doctor, told him its likely beatable, he's all messed up over what the first guy said. He's lost like 20 pounds, his eatings messed up, and to me it sounds like hes loosing his will to live and just writing that kills me. This came out of nowhere and here i am a thousand miles away with only half a clue of what's going on because i'm not getting all the info. My dad sounds like a wreck on the phone, and it just sucks so bad. I don;t know what to do and i hope these tests theyve been running this week come back with good news and get things back to normal, at least to a degree.

With all that being said, its kinda sucky these days i guess. Even my closer friends from down here are either home or not around. I miss the hell out of you guys at home. I hope the surprise I have planned will work out, and hopefully you'll enjoy it. After thinking of ways to work it out, i'm even excited for when you guys get it lol

Apparently Bill lives in Collingdale. I am very out of the loop. Looking forward to rejoining said loop.

Also looking forward to the continuation of the team cool movie marathon. Lord of the Rings, Love Actually, Garden State, Live Aid, Monty Python, Lion King, it'll be a grand old time.

Well. I'm gona get back to the IM and then get some shut-eye.

thoughts and whatnot

Now Playing: Warning by Incubus
It's too fucking hot to do anything these days. I picked up my check and cashed it today but it's just too damned hot to go to a park or whatever. I might still go to PI tonight, it's been a long time.

Things definitely went downhill after Jim, Josh, Tara, and CJ left. These kids are all amazing, and I miss them like crazy. We had good times.

There are still some good times, Courtney's still here, and Krystle and Steph are two snazzy girls, definitely a blast. It would've been awesome if these two were around when the spares were still here.

I can not wait to get home. I miss my family, my friends, my room, my car and GOOD EATIN! Back at home we just don't realize how good we have it. Food in the Philly area is just top notch. Down here, not so much.

This song is fucking A.

I'm having a party on Thursday, as in not today but a week from today. My food shopping this week consists of chips, dip, liqiour, and beer. Gotta love the college life. I suppose that's the biggest advantage of coming down here, I actually get to experience the so-called college lifestyle. I must say, I fit it quite well. Although with that being said, I haven't been drunk in about a month.

I'm bummed about missing Live 8, DMB, and all the other crazy cool concerts going on back home while I'm down here. I sold my DMB ticket for Tampa because if I were to go, I'd have to rent a car. Not exactly affordable or easy to come by in Orlando in July. So no summer concerts for me this year. Luckily I got in that totally sweet OAR and Marc Broussard jam at Universal.

I have broken almost every rule that Disney lays in front of us for the college program. All I need to do now is get in a fight and I'm all set lol. I kinda like how my crew down here brings out the rebel in me.

Speaking of being a dork, I saw Batman Begins last night. 'Twas awesome. Seriously. It's the best Batman movie by far, and I like Christian Bale as Batman. The film was very well written and shot and the ending makes me look forward to a new franchise of Bat-films. Now I just need to see Crash.

I would just like to re-emphasize that I have been around some very good people down here. Everyone brings something different to the table, so to speak, and it provides for a really fun and interesting crowd. I can not wait until I see them all again. I'm already missing the ones who are still here.

This week, some of my family is coming down which is way sweet. After they leave, I'm gonna go stay with my grandparents for a spell and for a little R&R. A quick little vacation on the west coast never hurt anyone ;o)

If anyone from home reads this, we are so going bowling when I get back.

Alrighty, I think that's a fair-sized update for a blog that nobody sees so I'm gonna go eat some food and jam out.

How 'bout a revolution?

Now Playing: That Was A Crazy Game Of Poker by O.A.R.
So much to say.

Yep. a lot has gone down recently. So here's another Spoon's Misadventures in FLorida for Dummies.

First of all, I turned 21 and I drink too much. Four nights of staggering home last week, gonna cut that back a bit.

I have a new, very dorky crew. The old crew began to remind me of some exes, if ya know what I'm sayin lol. As for now, my main peoples are Tara, CJ, Courtney, Josh, and Jim. Tara is from Rowan, and we're thinking about getting an apartment in South Jersey for the last year of school. CJ (Chantelle) is from South Africa like good old David J. Matthews, and she lives in Iowa these days. Josh is from Arizona, near the big hole in the ground. Jim's from New York, and we call him Test Track, because he makes my driving look good. Courtney is from Georgia, and everyone makes fun of her accent. They are way cool people. CJ, Josh, Jim, and I got stranded on the way back from Miami last week, which was a blast.

I'm going to see DMB on 7/14 in Tampa. Claire might be going but other than that no one has the money for it, which sucks. I'm hoping some of the new CPs will be cool and go.

All the people I mentioned above, except for Courtney, are leaving in the next few weeks, then we get a whole new batch of CPs. I'm hoping there's some cool people.

My old roommates are gonna be partying up this summer. Abi lives in Daytona, Tom's coming back here, and Andy will be in Miami. Good times. Nicole will be down for a visit, it'll be just like old times.

And hopefully soon Kathryn will be coming down, perhaps with Shawn and some snazzy South Carolina peeps. I can't wait for that!

Half of my family will be down in June, so that will be fun. I'm coming with the other half in November so I get to be here with everyone. Awesome stuff.

Now for the things you guys will care about. I'll be home between noon and 1 on 8/19 (and I cant fucking wait to get home). I'm gonna hit up Applebee's for my schedule and a motherfucking Cowboy burger, and them I'm sayin we're goin down the shore. Tara is staying in a 6 bedroom house all summer with one other person, and we've been invited for the night I get home. Also, when I get home, all of the core Dorx will be 21. Sweeet.

Now, onto next summer. CJ, Josh, Jim, and hopefully Tara and Courtney are all going on a one month road trip. We're gonna start somewhere in the NE, probably Philly, drive down the East coast, then head out west with stops in Louisiana, Tennessee, Arizona, Califronia, and Washington State being necessary. I"m sayin some Dorx should go too, and we should arrange it so we get to see Bonnaroo or DMB at the Gorge, or both. So let's get looking into that. And don't act like it won't happen, I did a one week road trip this past summer, I'm all about making this one happen.

And finally, recently I decided to reward myself for all the hard work I've done. So when I get home, I'm buying a Mustang.

And that about wraps it up. Peace out home doggies

Now Playing: This Year's Love by David Gray
This song tears at the heart. It's amazing.

Things have been interesting recently. Out of nowhere, I got hit with a HUGE case of missing the Dorx like mad. It actually really brought me down and I was quite the moody bastard. But Meghan called today, I chatted with Jake & Debra online, and saw Bill commented here, so it's all good. I still miss the hell outta you guys. I'm drinking one for each of you on Monday. Oh, and Meghan made my freakin day today because she;s awesome like that.

Speaking of Monday, I have no clue what I'm doing or who is gonna go with me. I'm excited as hell about my birthday, which makes me a crowd of one. Most of my friends here aren't 21 so they're not really into watching me drink, which is understandable. But I'm hoping the day doesn't suck, and that at least one person stays sober to keep my ass in line. I still haven't had the balls to watch that video.

I got rained on hardcore today. It was awesome, I love the rain.

I dig my crew down here. Before I get into that, I know you will make fun of me using "dig" in that manner. Anyway, they're cool. I added some pics from down here today, and they're on there. Becca (B-Styles) and Jamie (J-Boogie) are the ones I hang with the most, definite Dorx material. Good times.

The Incredibles comes out on DVD tomorrow. Good shit my friends! I'm gonna nab a copy on Thursday after I gets paid. Speaking of which, these next two paychecks are gonna suck big old smelly ass. It's my own fault, but that's how the cookie crumbles.

Oh, and by the way, I beat Jamie and Becca in a two on one wrestling match the other night. I schooled them like it ain't no thing. They put up a good fight though, I got choked and backhanded. Fun times.

Don't watch Ladder 49. We're wallpapering our apartment with Maxim girls. My DVD player is busted. I can't wait for St. Patty's Day. I also can't wait for Saturday! OAR and Marc Broussard! I got a season pass for Universal Studios.

And that about wraps it. Peace

Now Playing: Please Forgive Me by David Gray
Hi all. Or just Jake. Ya know, whoever's readin this.

Busy week, but in a fun way, here's a quick rundown.

TUE: Phantom of the Opera at AMC PI with Becca, Jamie, Jim, Michael, Jeff, Christina, and Courtney
WED: MGM and MK with Jamie and Ashley and later Kill Bill Volume 1 with Becca, Jamie, Josh, and Ashley
THU: Shuttles Cha Cha Slide Dance Off at PI with Becca, Jamie, Courtney, Michael, Jim, Aaron, and assorted roommates
FRI: Kill Bill Volume 2 with Becca, Jamie, and Shanika
SAT: Epcot and Center Stage with Becca, Jamie, Josh, Jim, and Courtney

Good times. The Kill Bill films are nothing short of amazing. Absolutely amazing.

Well, that was brief, but I am exhausted. So until next time, Peace

Dorkish Delight

Now Playing: Pig by DMB
Today was special. Becca, Jamie, Josh, and myself went to Magic Kingdom after work. Went on Space Mountain, then covered just about every ride in Fantasyland. It was nice. They are all definitely Dorx material, I have no doubt. Good people.

Last night was PI night. I went with Liz, Sabrina, Jen, and Ideliz, a little Sunshine reunion. It was seriously lacking in the Kathryn, Shawn, and Mr. Jim department! But it was still nice. We stayed in Motion the whole time, and I actually danced with Becca more than anyone else. Before that I ate at Bahama Breeze with Jen, and let me tell ya, it was delicious.

I hung out with Katie, Heather, and Jackie all afternoon yesterday after class, hitting up Cici's, the outlets, and Target. Good times. I can now say Bon Jovi has joined OAR and Snoop Dogg on the CP05 soundtrack.

I have a Connect 4 addiction. I bought it at Target yesterday.

And I must say, Becca is a snazzy gal.

Basically, everything has been a blast recently. Still missing the home team though, and it would be swell if some of yas could make it down. I suppose will see how those cookies crumble. In the meantime, keep it real home doggies!

oh good times indeed
Mood:  flirty
Now Playing: that was a crazy game of poker
wow.

I love being here. It's just a whole lot of fun. I know I keep saying this, but the job is wonderful. The people are great, for the most part. There's one gump-looking character I'm not the biggest fan of, but hey, you can't win them all. Speaking of which, the one roommate I hang out with quit and went home this morning. Sucks, but it's probably better off. No sense staying if you're not feelin the program.

I saw Napoleon Dynamite last night. Um, whacked out indeed. Naturally, I loved it. Saw it in the fancy apartments with a snazzy chica from work, Becca, who goes to West Chedda. I wonder if she's ever rolled down the hills...

I also saw Meet the Fockers recently, which cracked me the hell up. I saw that with Jen, my buddy and coworker from last time. That movie was hilarious. I need to see the first one.

Right now, Bill and Jake are drinking. In one month, I will also be drinking, and here's the exciting part:

My Birthday Weekend (assuming all goes well)

Kathryn, Shawn, Kate, Joe, and others of the Carolina crew may spend the weekend with me.

Saturday the 19th, I am going to Universal Studios with Claire, her roomie Rose, and possibly Becca. Free with admission that night is a freaking SWEET ASS concert with O.A.R. and Marc Broussard. Oh, and apparently Rose knows Marc, they're neighbors or something. Yeah. Cool.

How incredibly awesome would that be? The whole Carolina crew gets increasingly cooler with each passing day, as do some of the peepheads down here. So combine that with an awesome day, awesome music, and you get one awesome time.

Jake-I hear you and Amy are going to see O.A.R. They fucking rock it out live.

Oh, and on Monday (my bday) after work, I will go to one of the following places:
Epcot to drink around the world.
Hooters for a BBQ pork sandwich.
Jungle Jim's for drinks and karaoke.

I imagine Hooters and Jungle Jims would be a double shot, they can be done in one night. I think that's what I'm leaning towards. Get the Hooters bday song and bad karaoke all on tape to embarass myself later. I still haven't watched that first tape yet lol. One of these days.

Sadly, my DVD player met it's very untimely end. As did my football. The football sleeps with the fishes in our grungy pond, and the DVD player got whacked, I think. Either that or natural causes. We may never know. Sucks because I just bought DVDs: Oceans 11, Boondock Saints, Moulin Rouge, Garden State, and Napoleon Dynamite. It's all good though.

I'm in such a damned good mood for no reason. Those kinds of good moods are the best. :-D

I was gonna post pics here, but I'll just pop them onto the Spoon site.

Ok, here we go, Top Ten Songs of the Moment:

10. Track 16. lol
9. The Way You Make Me Feel by Michael Jackson
8. Higher Ground by Stevie Wonder
7. Take Your Mama by the Scissor Sisters
6. Anything from Phantom of the Opera
5. Fool In The Rain by Led Zeppelin
4. Turn Your Lights Down Low by Bob Marley & Lauryn Hill
3. You Got Me by the Roots and Jill Scott
2. Stay Up by Marc Broussard
1. That Was A Crazy Game Of Poker by O.A.R.

I hope all is wonderful on the home front. Keep it real homies.

Peace

SO I've seen a lot of movies recently. On the good list: Phantom of the Opera, Meet the Fockers, Troy, Boondock Saints, High Fidelity. BAd List: Boogeyman.

Stuff is cool here, the weather has gotten a lot nicer. I work all the time and the days i dont work i have class, so I haven't really gotten to hang out in a park yet.

My roommate has a computer, so I'll be online a bit more, hopefully. This is my first time using it.

Ok, i'm really tired, so I'm gonna go to bed now. See ya

Hello all (if anyone reads this) I'm finally getting in an update from FLorida. Things are snazzy. The job is good, I work with a lot of people from Philly, that's sweet. Aside from Monday which was a miserable day for all of us. But it's all good. I start class today in about an hour.

Not too much going on really. I go to Downtown Disney a lot, seen a few movies. Phantom of the Opera is great, Boogeyman, not so much. A few jumpy moments but a really shitty ending.

Katie Holmes is hot.

Peace
