Five time XG Dirt Jumping medalist T.J. Lavin broke his left wrist (April 28, '02) trying a gap at Planet Plywood in his native Las Vegas, NV, T.J. bailed out and paid the price. T.J. is a totally commited biker who has competed with strained muscles in his back (XG VI) and broke his thumb at XG II. T.J. is an intense rider with the big tricks it takes to get on the podium any contest he enters.

TJ has had Broken ankles and a twice-broken right wrist. Two of his worst crashes were: When he broke his ankle while doing a 720 and he also says that one of his worst ones was "Probably on my motorcycle! I got cross-rutted on a big jump, broke my ankle, and weeded my knee!"
And when TJ showed up at the 2000 X-Games, he was a bit beat up! When he was riding at Tim's (Fuzzy's) house in Utah, he over-rotated a flip and landed right on his tail-bone!! After the crash he said that he couldn't breathe for at least a minute, and that his back was killing him. Once Fuzzy helped him stretch out, T.J. was able to walk a little bit, but he decided to go to the hospital to get checked out. The doctors told him that he was extremely lucky because when some people are injured like that it results in paralysis!! OUCH!!! Thank God TJ is A-OKay Now!!!! (last story, thanks to RideBMX)
