Wicca 101

Course Title: Living Wicca: An Introduction
Instructor: Cian Medea
Cost: $13 per session
Supplies: pen, notebook, and plenty of enthusiasm
Time: 1-2 hours beginning 8pm, Wednesdays
Tutoring is available by appointment.
Objective: By the end of the course students will be able to analyze the steps involved in becoming a "Working Witch;" and understand the purpose, planning, implementation, and pre/post evaluation of ritual spellwork. The course will clarify what it means to be a Witch, how to become one, and how to strengthen this new identity, as well as provide guidelines for living Wicca in a practical and life-affirming way.
Week One: Introduction and group discussion. We will discuss your personal definition of a Witch, Witchcraft, and your expectations and goals in learning the Craft. Handouts: Principles of Belief, Witches' Rede of Chivalry.
Week Two and Three: Family Reunion. We will discuss the Witches' Pantheon, Elementals, Nature Spirits, and Faery folk.
Week Four and Five: Wiccan Physics 101. Energy! Natural, spiritual, and personal. All will be discussed along with their practical applications.
Week Six and Seven: Shop class. This is the beginning of your use of energy. We will discuss all the magickal tools and their uses. Handouts and exercises: Witches' Pyramid, Natural Laws.
Week Eight and Nine: Circles and Sacred Space. Creating sacred space and casting circles will be demonstrated and learned. Raising power in the circle through Elemental invocation will also be covered.
Week Ten: On your way. In your final class, we will discuss designing your "Craft;" personalizing Wicca to fit your lifestyle, and give you the finishing touches to bring together all you've learned.
Syllabus is subject to change but all topics will be covered.
