The Bronze Age Links
After I started
writing a Bronze Age-setting piece, it dawned on me I knew virtually nothing
about the period I was writing on. Like I said, it shows in some spots. In
the meantime, though, I did accumulate a little research material. If you
want to do a little bit of "Horsemen" fanfic, or just have a heavy-duty interest
in the period, here are some interesting links.
Argos Search (Limited Search of Ancient and Medieval Sites on the Web)
Archeometallurgy.com (Hey, they called it the Bronze Age)
Internet Ancient History Sourcebook
Exploring Ancient World Cultures
Gateways to Babylon (I just found this to be a really interesting site)
Ancient Civilization Links (Not sure where I got this from, but very comprehensive)
OH, and if you want to "go nuts" with the whole Bronze Age thing-try these:
The Pronunciation of Ancient Egyptian
Also-I'll be putting together a little something of my own in the future with some pictures, some notes, etc. I've developed a little bit of an obsession with "the origins of things." Hopefully, I get the time to do it up right.
(The graphic here is based on "the Stelae of Naram Sin", who actually was an historical figure. I don't know if he'd enjoy being linked with Kronos in my stories, but he lived, like, over four thousand years ago.I don't think I'll get any "hate mail.")
Highlander Links
I can't put together a really kicking HL links page-because that would take forever and the most comprehensive links page has already been done-
(The only HL bookmark you need-that is not an overstatement.)
That being said, I want to give a shout out to one of my clans-
(I consider them my "home away from home".)
(Yeah, I know, scrawny little links page I've got. I will add to it. Eventually.)
Discordia (Okay, I'm not gonna explain it.)
Fell into reading books by this guy, Robert Anton Wilson. He's brilliant, but that's besides the point. If you want to read a book that will (IMHO) really impress your head (for good or ill, take it as you find it) let me totally recommend The Illuminatus! Trilogy by R. A. W. and Robert Shea. Here are some interesting links, that lead to more interesting links that might lead to even more interesting links .
