4) Improvised modules in the earlier TBG-2 were much the same as TBG-1 demo
modules
in their decay, and limited by only be makable by ships that didn't already
have
one of that type. This isn't ideal from the point of view of weapons or of
having
them transferred from a small improvising ship to a big using ship. The new
scheme
is to allow them to be made freely, but have each one decay by as many
percent as
its ship has improvised modules in total.
This makes running an entirely improvised ship reasonably interesting,
allowing very
new starters to compete earlier if they're good at it, while still requiring
an upgrade
to proper modules to avoid spending most actions replacing modules which
have become
unfixable junk.
