Warning: Anyone
who wants to see Jaina Solo and Zekk together, or deeply hates Anja DO NOT
READ THIS. I wrote this in a really depressed mood when I wanted to write a
story with a sad ending. If you want to read something more happy I
suggest you read my other story, Across the Galaxy.

You took your coat off and stood in the rain
You were always crazy like that.
And I watched from my window
Always felt I was outside looking in on you.
You were always the mysterious your with dark eyes and careless hair
You were fashionably sensitive, but to cool to care.
Then you stood in my door way with nothing to say
besides some comment on the weather.
Well incase you failed to notice
Incase you failed ot see.
This is my heart bleeding before you.
This is me down on my knees
These foolish games are tearing me apart.
Your thoughless words are breaking my heart.
You're breaking my heart...
Jaina sat in her ship, the Solo's Bounty, stairing at the Academy. It
was only one week to graduation, but her father gave her the ship as a
early graduation present.
He was as happy as a claim when he gave it to her. Though she
did have to admit she was taken back when she saw that it was a smaller
verision of the Falcon. The best part came when he wanted to help name
the ship. He said "since Leia never let him name any of his children
Han Jr. I would be honored for you to name the ship The Falcon Jr." She
told him that she "would think about it", but he was just as happy to
hear that she had named it The Solo's Bounty.
Lately she had been sleeping in the ship preparing its living
quarters and making some much needed modifications. Most of her things that
were in her room had been moved to her ship. The only thing keeping her
now was the graduation ceremonies.
Jaina had asked Lowie to come with her, but he was going home then
to look for Rabba. Tenel Ka was going back to Hapes, and if Jacen came
to his sences he would follow. Lusa was staying at the Academy to complete
her training, and Raynar was going back to join his mother and Uncle, but
planned regular visits to Yavin 4. As for Anja and Zekk who knew and who cared?
She rubbed the necklace, a small J on a gold chain, that Zekk gave
to her for her 16th birthday. He had a similar one only with a Z on it. "You
meant so much to me. Where did we go wrong?" She knew the answer to that:
Zekk hadn't said five words to her since Anja came. Her twin said even
less to her, unless it was about Anja.
A loud bang brought Jaina to her back to reality. She noticed
though the window that it was pouring outside. Another bang rang through the
ship. She walked to the ramp and let it down. Zekk stood in the rain. "Can
I come in?"
"Wow, A whole sentence!" Zekk staired at Jaina a moment not quit
understanding what she ment. "Yes, of course. You can come in. I suppose Anja
and Jacen want to come in, too."
"They were behind me," Zekk looked around, but couldn't find them.
Jaina walked back to the cockpit and quickly found something to
rewire. Zekk sat down next to her in the co-piolt's seat. "So this is your
ship, The Hunter's Saber?" Wiggling around in his seat he found a comfortable
position. "I could get use to this."
"The Solo's Bounty."
"What?"
"It's called The Solo's Bounty."
"That's what I said."
"No you called it The Hunter's Saber."
"So, when was that test flight you wanted me to go on with you?
Zekk asked trying to change the subject.
"Four weeks ago."
"Oh, well, Want me to help you replace the hyperdrive? I know you
wanted help with that."
"Lowie, Chewie, and Dad are helping me install it later."
After a long slience Zekk said "I went to visit you last night, but
your room was empty."
"I've been staying here."
"Yeah, Jacen told me. When did you manage to sneak that past me?"
"Zekk, I've been here for two and a half weeks." Jaina said looking
him in the eyes. This really hurt her. Even when he was gone as a Bounty
Hunter he always knew where she was, but now this hurt, since her room
was across from his.
"You've been here two and a half weeks?!"
"Yeah," she said slowly. "I'm leaving as soon as graduation is
over." She looked away from him.
"Your not staying to welcome the new trainees?"
"No, I hope to be completely out of the system by then."
"I'm staying here to..."
"...help Anja finish her training along with my brother."
"Wow, your good."
"Thanks." Jaina said giving a lop sided grin. "Would you expect
less from the best?"
Zekk stood behind her and began to rub her shoulders. "You know
Jaina," he kissed her neck. "I've waited a long time to tell you," he
began to nibble her ear. "That I..."
A loud bang filled the ship. Zekk jumped, and Jaina sank into her
chair. "Wonderful timeing." Then a loud slaching sound then bang made Jaina
jump up and run to see what happened. Anja had let Jacen and herself in.
Tenel Ka, Raynar, Lusa, Han, Leia, Luke, Lowie, Chewie, and Anakin
came running when they heard the noise and Jaina screamed "You cut down
my door with your lightsaber!"
"Get over it. I'll find a tin can to replace it."
"I'll tell you what I'll replace you with Anja..."
"Jaina, don't worry. We can fix it." Han said trying to calim down
his daughter.
Anja looked around. "I thought the point of getting a new ship
was getting one that worked. Not a peice of junk that won't even make it
to the scrap yards."
Leia held Han back and shook her head. 'Don't let her get to you.'
Jaina told herself. "She might not look like much, but she gots it where
it counts."
Leia looked at her brother and sighed. Anakin and Jacen shook their
heads, and Chewie let out a howl of laughter. "Jaya," Anakin said. "You've
only had this ship a month and you already sound like dad!"
"Great," Leia sighed. "The cursed Solo gene has taken my daughter."
"Hey what's that suppost to mean?" Han asked.
"Nothing."
Leia said sheepishly. "Come on ya nerf-hearder."
"It's stopped raining." Zekk said. "Come Anja. I want to work on your
lightsaber techniques."
Jaina watched as everyone slowly left her.
You were always brilliant in morning
Smoking your cigarettes, and talking over coffee.
Your philosophies on art, Baroque moved you
You loved Mozart and you'd speak of your loved ones
While I clumsly strummed my guitar.
You'd teach me of honest things
Things that were daring, things that were clean
Things that knew what a honest dollar did mean.
So I hid my soiled hands behind my back
Some where along the line I must have gone off track with you.
Excuse me, I must have mistaken you for somebody else.
Somebody who gave a damn.
Somebody more like myself.
These foolish games are tearing me apart.
Your thoughtless words are breaking my heart.
Your breaking my heart...
Jaina walked into her room. Only the things that were left was
the stuff that was supplied by the Academy and a couple of boxes that were
in the corner. She senced that someone was at the door before anyone knocked.
"One minute." She opened the door. "Hi Uncle Luke."
"Greetings Jaina. Can I come in?"
"Sure." The Jedi Mater walked across the room and sat in one of the
chairs. "I hope you have reconsidered leaving so soon."
"No I need some time by myself now."
"Jaina, your mom and dad..."
"are worried about me. They shouldn't be. I have been in worse situations
then this. This is just another enemy. The only difference is I can not fight
it. It won't go away by itself, and can't be cut down with a lightsaber."
Luke listened to his neice with great intest and worry. She spoke
with wisdom beyond her years. Unfortunely that wisdom came with having to
grow up to fast, like other Jedi, in her 17 years she had seen more battles
then most people would ever see in many life times.
"This time," Jaina continued "the enemy is me, and I must fight
my future."
"What is it that you want?"
"I don't know, but I know what everyone else wants. Mom wants me to
come back to Coruscant and prepare to become the next Cheif of State."
"Dad wanted someone to follow in his footsteps, and when he saw it
wasn't going to be Jacen I was the next choice. That was until he suddenly
changed his mind and wanted me to be the Captain of some New Republic
fleet or some other high ranking member in the New Republic."
Luke wondered if Leia had to do with his sudden change of mind.
"You want me to stay here to teach. Not to mention Anakin who
wants me to still be his perfect older sister. Jacen wants me to be his twin,
who never would let him wonder into danger, but lead him head first into
it. And Zekk...well I used to know what he wanted."
Jaina slumped depressingly into her seat. Luke could see the fear
and pain in her eyes. It didn't take a Jedi to see this in the out pour of
emotions. Under it was a broken heart, but there was something more. Hate.
A hatered so strong that it was tearing her apart inside, so Jaina had been
telling the truth when she said she was her enemy.
"Jaina," Luke said as her stood up. "This room will always be
here for you if you ever need or want it."
"Thank you, Uncle Luke." He walked out the door and down the hallway.
He turned around and watched her close the door. For some reason he had a
feeling that this would be one of the last times would ever see her again.
In the last few days Leia had talked Jaina into sleeping in a "real bed"
before she left. She didn't mind staying in her room, it was just having to
see and hear Anja leaving her brother's room and Zekk's room at all times of
the day and night that got to her.
Someone knocked on the door. Jania opened it and Tenel Ka stood
there. "Hey
what's up?" she could tell by the look on her face that she wanted something.
"What do you want?"
Tenel Ka walked into her room. "Friend Jaina, would you take me
back to Hapes tomarrow after graduation?"
Jaina was a little suprised at the request. "Sure... but I thought
Jacen was taking you there on the Rock Dragon." Tenel Ka looked down at
her feet. "We broke up."
"What? Why?"
"I don't know. When I told him that I would be ready to leave by
the end of the week, and Grandmother was planning a huge party for us so
be ready he flipped. He hollared about dropping everything here and running
off. Then something about Anja and her needs." A tear formed in the worrior
girl's eyes. "That's when he told me I was being selfish and never wanted
to see me again."
"The Rock Dragon needs some repairs, and I want to be back on
Hapes as soon as possiable."
"Yeah, have everything on my ship back on my ship by graduation."
Tenel Ka nodded and left. "What do you think you are doing, Jacen?"
Jaina asked as she flopped down on her bed and pulled the covers over her head.
The next day everything went by so fast. Tenel Ka's parents showed
up and were going to take her to home. When the ceremonies where over Jaina
said her goodbye's to her family and Raynar, Lusa, Tenel Ka, and Lowie.
Tenel Ka and Jacen worked things out and where off fixing the
Rock Dragon. She had seen them earlier talking to Zekk, but she didn't know
what had been said. She walked around the ship doing preflight checks when
someone tapped on her shoulder. Jaina turned around to see Zekk. "Zekk what
happened? Your all wet."
"It's raining again. Strange weather we've been having."
"I quess so," Jaina looked around. "You here by yourself?"
"Yeah, Jacen is off talking to Tenel Ka about something."
Jaina could tell that Zekk was wondering why Jacen would want to talk to
Tenel Ka when Anja was at the Academy, "and Anja has gone off again."
"Gee, I wonder she could be doing."
"What is the suppost to mean?" Zekk snapped.
"I don't know?" Jaina hollared back. "Why don't you tell me?"
"It's Anja isn't it? Your jelous of Anja."
"Yeah that is exactley what it is. I'm jelous of that drugie
whore of yours."
Zekk slapped her across the face. "If I ever hear you talk about
her like that again. I'll."
"You'll what? Be a big man and hit me again?"
Realizing what he did Zekk began to studder "Jaina...I'm...
I'm so sorry. I didn't mean it." He grab her and puleed her close trying
to hug her, but Jaina pulled away.
"No, Zekk. I can't take it anymore. I've been waiting to find out if
you wanted me to be in your life anymore. I can't tell lately, but now
I've made up my mind. I'm leaving."
"Jaina, you can't mean that."
"Zekk off my ship." She pulled off the J necklace and gave it
to Zekk. "Here. I don't want anything to remind me of you. I don't
want you in my life anymore."
Zekk stood on the ground outside of the ship looking at Jaina.
"Jaina, don't go."
She stood on the ramp looking at him. "Don't came after me."
"Jaina," Zekk pleaded, "I love you!"
She turned and walked back to the cockpit. Zekk's words echoed
through her mind.
The Solo's Bounty rose off the ground and moved out of sight.
