Potato Potlas
A great coulourful looking yummy appetizer in the shape of a bag
Ingredients :
3/4 cup white flour
1/4 cup semolina
3-4 drops yellow food colour
1-2 drops green food colour
1/2 tsp jeera
1 tsp oil
1 potato boiled & mashed
salt to taste
1 tsp jeera powder
1 tsp red chillie powder
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tbsp corriander leaves finely chopped
Method :
1. Mix white flour, semolina, oil, salt, jeera into a dough.
2. Take a very small portion of the dough & add green colour to it & keep it aside.
3. To the rest of the dough, add yellow colour or any other of your favourite colour & keep aside.
4. To the boiled & mashed potato, add salt, jeera powder, red chillie powder, lemon juice, corriander leaves & mix well.
5. Roll out the green colour dough like a puri & cut into thin strips. Apply some water on the strips to prevent them from drying.
6. Divide the yellow colour dough into small balls & shape like puris.
7. Put a little filling in the center of the puri & lift the sides of the puri together , folding it up in the center like a bag/potla. Apply little water on the strip & place around the next of the potla & leave it like a bow.
8. Deep fry on a medium flame turning frequently to brown evenly all the sides of the potla.
