Poomse Before Poomse: When called upon, answer loudly ("Yes Sir!") and
run to the starting position. To fix your uniform, it is best to turn
sideways to avoid fixing facing the head judges or the score judges. If
necessary, state your name and school at a reasonable volume, and wait
for permission to start poomse. During Poomse: Remember to Ke-yop (Yell)
at appropriate times. If you forget the next move or had mistakes, you
may ask for permission to start over.
After Poomse: When you finish, stay in finishing position until given
instructions to return to starting position by the judges. Kyorugi Before
Kyorugi: Prepare chestguard and other sparring equipments to avoid waiting
or penalty. Teams will first line up on each side of the referee. Bow
and shake hands with your opponent. When called upon (Chung Hong Ip Chi),
run to your position and wait for equipment inspection.
During Kyorugi: We will add rules of what not to do during Kyorugi to
University of Pennsylvania TKD Club. But most importantly: do not cheer
yourself, do not intentionally attack unprotected areas, do not intentionally
attack penalty areas, and obey the referee at all times. Remember, TKD
is a sport, not a deathmatch. After Kyorugi: Stand/Sit at your starting
position. After the decision of the match, bow and shake hands with your
opponent, bow and shake hands with your opponent's coach. If appropriate,
run back to starting position and bow to referee and head judges. Bow
and shake hands with your coach.
