THE NORTH BERWICK HUNTING AND FISHING CLUB

 

ARTICLE I

The name of the organization shall be called the North Berwick Hunting and Fishing Club.

 

ARTICLE II

The purpose of The North Berwick Hunting and Fishing Club shall be to promote good sportsmanship, provide members and families with a place to safely use the range and club grounds for hunting, fishing, shooting and other activities approved by said club.

 

ARTICLE III

To be a member of this club you must be in good standing with any state or federal law and be at least sixteen years old. Memberships shall fun from January 1st thru December 31st.

 

ARTICLE IV

Club meetings shall be held on the third Monday of each month at 7:30 p.m. Special meetings may be called by the Executive Committee, consisting of all elected officers and immediate past president, at anytime.

 

Amendment #1: In the event that the November meeting falls on the first day of Bear season, the Meeting date for that month will be automatically moved to the 2nd Monday in November @ 7:30 p.m.

ARTICLE V

The officers of the club shall be President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer.

 

    1. Each office shall be for a term of one year.

 

    1. No officer may be elected for more then two terms of the same office in succession.

 

(c) After being out of office for one year, said officer may be elected for another term in Office.

 

    1. In the event of a vacancy, in order to complete the term of office, the Executive Committee shall appoint another member to fill the vacancy, except for the office of President. In this case the Vice-President shall become the President. Another Vice-President shall then be appointed.

 

ARTICLE VI

No meetings shall be held to transact official business unless there are at least Fifteen members or more present.

 

    1. At the October club meeting the President shall appoint a nominating committee of three members to get at least two nominees for each office. The eligibility of nominees shall be up to the discretion of the nominating committee. At the November club meeting the President shall hold the election for new officers.

 

    1. Eligibility to vote for officers--the voter must have attended at least four meetings in the current year.

 

Amendment #1: Each nominee must also have attended at least four meetings in the current year, in order to be eligible to run for an office.

 

ARTICLE VII

The order of business shall be:

    1. Call to order
    2. Reading of the Minutes of the last monthly club meeting
    3. Treasurer’s Report
    4. Correspondence
    5. Committee Reports
    6. Old Business
    7. New Business
    8. Adjournment

 

ARTICLE VIII

The Treasurer shall see that all operational bills of the club are paid on time. He will give a report at the next meeting of the money spent. No other monies shall be spent without prior approval of the club. In the event that the Treasurer cannot conduct the business of his office, the President is authorized to take over his duties.

 

ARTICLE IX

Any member convicted of ant state, federal, or local fishing or hunting law shall be subjected to being expelled from the club by a membership vote at the next monthly club meeting. Any member violating club rules shall be subjected to disciplinary action up to and including dismissal from the club.

 

    1. Anyone under the influence of illegal drugs or alcohol will not be allowed to

Participate in any activity at the club.

    1. No alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs are allowed on the premises.
    2. No stocking of club grounds or pond without approval of the club
    3. No fishing by anyone sixteen or over at the pond.
      1. A child must be accompanied by an adult member
      2. Only one pole per child may be used
      3. Only four trout per day creek limit.
      4. Barbless hooks only.

 

Amendment #1: Any current member of the North Berwick Hunting and Fishing Club has the right to ask (in a courteous manner) any other person, on club property, for proof of membership. If said person is unable to produce verification of membership or refuses to produce verification of membership, can and shall be asked to leave the property. All members shall be able to produce membership verification.

 

ARTICLE X

The by-laws of this organization may be amended by a committee appointed by the Executive Committee through an approved motion of the general membership. Voting on said amendments shall take place only after the membership has been notified in advance as to the scheduled meeting that the voting will take place for this purpose.

ARTICLE XI

An inactive organization is when the club fails to conduct twelve consecutive regular monthly meetings. Should at any time we have an inactive organization, the Executive Committee shall notify all members and hold a meeting to discuss dissolution of said club? After all bills are paid, all holdings shall be distributed to non-profit civic organizations.
