West Perry JV Softball 2000I was a little nervous at first, its been 11 years since I've coached a softball team, and Its been 11 years since I played fastpitch softball. Luckily the girls on the team are great. They may not be the best players on earth(yet!!) but each and every one shows great potential. I love the fact that I can see dramatic improvement in the ones who have never played organized softball before. There's nothing I'd rather be doing with my time right now....I get to be involved with my former High School, I get to be on the field everyday, and I get to help kids who want to play this game that I love so much. I can't wait to see the team's reaction when we get our first win....I'm so excited when they turn a double play, start a two-out rally, or break out of a hitting slump. I'll probably be more excited than the team when they win.***added note.....when the players attitudes change so dramatically, to the point where they refuse to listen to the coaches advice....then I guess you can't really hold a coach responsible for the outcome of any game.****

Away vs. Cedar Cliff....................L 20-2 Ok, so now the season is over, How sad is it that the very next day after the season was over, I found one of the players sitting in the dugout after school....she was bored. You would think after a losing season, players would want to run as far away from this sport as possible. From what I've seen and heard, it seems to be the exact opposite. I just wish something could be done to increase the interest in West Perry's spring sports. There are lots of fans who attend basketball games and show their support. Only parents and a few of my friends attended the softball games. |

The batter is blocking the view, but this play at the plate had Abbey tagging the runner IN THE FACE!!(it was cool) The runner was safe.  First and most importantly, the ball was caught!! Jacqui was calling Nicole "Bonehead".   The girl with several names...Kinky, and most recently, "The hamburglar burglar" A conference at the mound to get everyone's head back in the game.  Abbey held on and tagged her out at the plate!!  THIS PICTURE SCARES ME!! Tiff did this to Jen's head!  This Pic is from the Gettysburg game...this is Sheena's impression of a certain WP coach!!
