  • (EDDIE):KILLIAN Tell Us How KILLER KHAN Formed?

(KILLIAN):Well initially I started the band because of the downward spiral of the then top metal groups, and I'm talking around '92 or '93, and the sickening music that was taking over the airwaves at the time and of course the collapse of MTV. I started recording songs back in November of '92 mainly so I would have something to listen to that I liked and eventually I started to release some of those songs and got some positive feedback from the people around me and it's been snowballing ever since.

(EDDIE):What Is The Band's Main Influences?

(KILLIAN):The main influences of the band are most of your top metal groups of the 70's and 80's which include Zeppelin, Sabbath, Priest, Deep Purple,Savatage, etc. Anybody that played heavy metal back in those days probably influenced me somewhere down the line.

(EDDIE):How Would You Classify KILLER KHAN Music?

(KILLIAN):I'm not sure that I can classify the music, I mean I know it's heavy metal and when I'm in the studio we don't set out to sound a particular way when we go in, things just come out sounding like they do because of equipment and technique and style of play. We're not thrash but we're not grunge either, I mean you could probably classify it as traditional heavy metal with a sort of NWOBHM raw sound but with clean production and very heavy!

(EDDIE):What Does KILLER KHAN Got Planned For Touring?

(KILLIAN):We are currently trying to get a tour of North America set up for the first of next year and at this time there are no locked in dates so all I can say is keep your eyes and ears open and hopefully soon we'll be in your backyard playing some in your face smash mouth heavy metal!

(EDDIE):Where Can The People Purchase KILLER KHAN'S Music From?

(KILLIAN):I know in Canada you can get it at HMV and I think you can go to most of your big chain stores and buy it,if they don't have it they can order it for you.Or you can buy over the internet at Amazon, CDNow, CDUniverse, CDBaby and Restless and Wild Imports or you can buy it from me by going through my website at

  • (EDDIE):Tell Us A Bit About The Recording Of The CD?

(KILLIAN):The writing and recording of the CD was a long drawn out process of about 6 months. I spent 5 months writing it and 1 month recording, mixing and masteringit. The "Kill Devil Hills" CD was produced by Richard Downs my guitar player. He did a splendid job producing the album and his axe work is second to none in my book.I recorded the album at DBS Studios in Nashville, Tennessee and since '94 that's where I've recorded all of the albums up til now.

(EDDIE):Who Does The Writing In The Band?

(KILLIAN):I guess that would be me, I mean if I don't do the writing it won't get done. There's a whole lot that goes into the writing process and I'm going to make damn sure it gets done in the proper fashion. While all of my pals are out partying and having a good time I'm slaving away with my guitar or my pen depending on where I'm at in a song, I mean I'm almost a hermit when I get in the mood to write and you won't see me for weeks at a time. Some life huh?

(EDDIE):Did You Ever Think You Would Finally Be Where You Are Now?

(KILLIAN):It just all happened pretty much on a whim, I mean I never meant for it to go this far when it started but I think you get caught up in it and right now I don't see anyway out of it, because I'm hooked or addicted to the music but I'm not ready for rehab and I want to take it higher and as far as it will go.

(EDDIE):What Was Your Most Memorable Moment Making The CD Or A Show?

(KILLIAN):My most memorable experience making the album was watching the apartment complex behind the studio burn to the ground. It was a 2 story apartment building and there were people on the second floor and the flames were huge and spreading towards them and ten feet isn't that far too jump but this thing was built on a steep incline and it looked like 25 feet to the bottom but fortunately the firemen got there in time and spared them that fall. And plus we tried some new studio tricks that worked out pretty well and we're always experimenting with stuff if we have the time.

(EDDIE):What's The Current Status Of KILLER KHAN,Any New Info Or Thoughts You Would Like To Share With The Fans?

(KILLIAN):The current news is we are working on tour plans and now that we have global distribution you should be able to purchase a copy of the album somewhere and also look for the re-release of our second album "Rock n' Roll Forever" which will probably happen in the spring of next year!
