November 8, 2003

WOW!!!! 12 years old! My oh my how time does fly. *S* I remember your birth like it was yesterday.

I woke up early in the morning (yes, 6am is early for a pregnant woman) *ggl* on November 8th, 1991 and went to the bathroom. My contractions grew strong overnight and I had started to bleed. This was a sign that labor has begun. The only problem was, you were not due for another month! (You always were ahead of your time..lol). After seeing this I woke up Daddy and told him. He said to call the doctor to see what we should do. I placed the call and waited. Within those few minutes, I began to get excited, wanting to meet my firstborn daughter. The doctor called me back and after I told him what was happening he said to go to the hospital and get examined.

I had been in pre-term labor with you since the begining of 6 months. At 6 months I was 3 cm. dialated and 60% thinned out. You couldn't wait to join this family it seemed. *G* From that point til Novemeber 8th, I was at the hospital at least once or twice a week with them trying to keep you from coming out! One nurse saw me in the hallway when leaving and even asked if I was a newly hired nurse there! *L*

We got dressed quickly and Daddy drove me to the hospital. They got me ready with the "equipment" to hear your heart and to feel my contractions.

This is the part where everything is NOT like most babies are born....remember that! *L*

I remember the tv in the room being on, and there was a soap opera playing...Daddy and I were just talking. Things seemed busy around us, yet it seemed like we were not even there. The contractions got stronger and stronger til at one point i had a contration that lasted 6 minutes! Yes, six minutes!!! WOW!! Did you want to come out then!

Soon after that, the doctor arrived. He checked you inside me and said that i could push anytime...but then he left! Daddy and I thought that he was coming right back. Time passed and another contraction came...I looked up at Daddy and he looked at me. Neither of us knew what was happening. Finally, I said "push?", and Daddy shrugged and said, "I guess so". With Daddy's approval, I began to push you out. We were left alone for quite a while there. A nurse came in and we thought we finally had help. But she walked into the bathroom and did something and left! Daddy and I were just puzzled at what was happening.

I kept pushing at each contraction. Finally, when I thought I couldn't take it anymore, the doctor came in. He leaned down...told me to give one hard push and then BAM! out you came...he called a nurse and she came in, took you over to care for you and get you ready while the doctor left again!

When the nurse handed you to me. I lost my breath. You were so beautiful. You had silver blonde hair that was even long enough to put up. Of course you had blue eyes then, but looking at them I knew that they would be beautiful. To us, you were our angel sent from heaven that we have prayed for!

The one thing that was funny on that day is that you were constantly having the hiccups. They were so cute to listen to. You slept well afterwards and still hiccuped in your sleep! *L*

When we took you home....you had a Disney Babies theme that was filled with all of the new things we received from the baby shower. It was then that our new lives began as a "family" and we have been proud of you since. You are our Sunshine!!

We love you all the way to Jesus!
