Welcome to my HOME so to speak. This web site is a work in progress. Started in 1997 and restarted numerous times thereafter; in 1999 I was finally well enough to make a concerted effort to continue. In essence this site is an off-shoot of my "journey."
Since my "official" diagnosis of bipolar in 1997, I have spent many hours attempting to learn all I can about my illness. This web site is a culmination of what I have found; some helpful, some not, but all has been included. I have included (and will continue to include) any information I have found pertaining to Bipolar Disorder specifically and mental health in general. What will be found on my site hopefully will be of some help.
Currently I have over 5700 URLs that I'm in the process of organizing. As stated my site will continue to grow and change as I get more adept at HTML and website design. I'm also at the mercy of my bipolar (and my job) so there will be times that I'm not able to work on my site as much as I'd like.
What information will you find on my site? My site a collection of URLs pertaining to Bipolar Disorder and general mental health issues. I have included many links to other's personal struggles, professional and semi-professional sites. There are links to different types of web portals, databases, web communities and medical sites.
Eventually I would like to include information concerning the disability aspect, SSI/SSDI, links to government concerns, and whatever else I can find that may be of use.
Please use and enjoy my site!! I have kept the graphics to a minimum (partly because I'm still figuring that aspect of web design out) for easier loading.
UPDATE: Well it has been eons since I have worked on my Web site. Job demands have made it virually impossible to keep up; now with the addition of school, hoping I haven't yet again bitten off more than I can chew.
So with that in mind I'm going to be totally revamping my site. I just discovered that the site I was storing all my links has been discontinued (nice of them to tell me), so I now have to start from scratch. In essence it probably is a good thing since I know many of my links are dead. So please bare with me in this process.
As I mentioned I have returned to school--Web Site Design--novel concept huh!! Figured I might as well learn about what I enjoy. I'm hoping to incorporate my schooling into my personal site.
So enough said, Dunie's Place will be under going major changes...PEACE!!!
