.:Back To Your Heart-Chapter 15:.
Chapter Fifteen

So Brian and the Boys reluctantly left, heading for the Big Apple where they would all spend their lonely holiday season. Brian spent the whole plane ride worrying about his relationship with Leighanne. He knew she did not like how the fans treated them, but he could not do much to help that situation because of his devotion to music and commitment to his four other group members. The time passed slowly and with each passing minute his heart felt emptier and emptier.

Once they arrived, they had the rest of the day off so Brian went to their hotel and called Leighanne. They talked for hours about the situation with Brian's fans and then nothing in particular. The next day, Christmas Eve, they went to the MTV studio where there was a huge turn out of fans. They all made their comments about how it was so nice to have so many people that want to see them. Brian's response was half-hearted and it made him feel worse because he knew that Leighanne would probably be watching. When he felt that no one was paying much attention to him he casually lifted up his hand to the camera in a small wave but inconspicuously pointed to his ring finger with his thumb.

Christmas day they went over to VH1 and did a short interview with them. Then continued on to Z100, a radio station there. They had another interview and talked mostly about their music, instead of their personal lives.

On the 26th, the day of the planned wedding, they had the day off. Brian called Leighanne again, but she was in a hurry to get off the phone. She said she was going to drive to her parents' house in Georgia to visit them. Brian was hurt that she did not want to talk to him, but he understood. He called his parents once he got off the phone and they talked about how everything was running in New York and what Brian had been doing lately.

The next day they went to the Virgin Records megastore for an album signing. They spent the whole day meeting fans and signing records.

On December 28th, the Boys went to meet two children from Make-A-Wish. One had lung cancer from their father's second hand cigarette smoke. The other had leukemia. All of the guys were sad about how cruel it was for the children to die so young, but Brian felt it was cruel for their management to do what they did to his relationship, too.

Their second to last day there was spent at Teen People's offices for an interview and photo shoot to go in the next issue. Finally they were at the end of the trip and Brian was anxious to get back home.

On the last day there, they stopped by the Jive Records office in the morning before going to the airport. They were supposed to discuss their plans for a new album, but for the first half an hour, Brian was lectured by many different people on how terrible his decision to get married was. They instructed him to never take her anywhere Backstreet-related again. No more tours, no more awards shows, no more music videos, no more interviews, no more photo shoots, no more recording sessions, nothing. After that they spent a little less than ten minutes discussing what was planned for them to discuss before they left.

They finally arrived at the airport and quickly boarded the plane without causing too much of a disruption. The whole plane ride Brian fidgeted impatiently as he anxiously awaited their arrival in Orlando. The flight was finally over, and Brian could not wait to get home.
