Shane belonged to friends of ours, Donna and Ed. Donna had very bad asthma which was under control with medications but when she became pregnant, her condition got worse. The doctor told her it was either the cat or the baby. We then took Shane into our home in 1995.
Him and Gus Gus were born around the same time. Donna bought Shane over a few times before for him to meet Gus Gus, so adopting Shane into out family was not too difficult.
Before we took Shane in he used to come for play visits with Gus Gus. Gussie was bigger than Shane and when Shane knew he would lose, he would hid under the frig knowing that Gussie couldn't fit his big belly under there. He was a quiet little one, but very lovable.
He too died of FIV a few months after Gus Gus. The doctors couldn't predict who contracted first. They had thought it was Shane since his lymph nodes were always swollen, but when Gus Gus died first they weren't sure anymore.:( He was 5 years old when he died. He went quietly and peacefully.
