FISH
BECW Website Guy: Hello everyone, and welcome to another addition of BECW's Interview series.... Today we have the distinct privledge of introducingBECW's final world champ Fish.... Welcome Fish!
Fish: How's it Goin Website guy!
BECW Website Guy: In the past two interviews that were conducted my first question was "How did BECW all begin?" but.... I'd like to ask you personally what/who inspired you to even think about Backyard Wrestling in the first place
Fish: Well, I'm sure you've heard this before, but I've been into wrestling for quite some time. Perry (Debaser) Invited me to start watching WWF Raw over at his place with Huffnagle, so I accepted. One Day, Huffnagle announced that We were the hWo, while Kenny Mack, His Brother the Graduate, and Hot Chocolate were Corporation X. An Altercation started, and Eric Ao Gave me a sick Pedigree. The Rest, as they say, is history.
(The dreaded HWO and Corporation-X stables)
BECW Website Guy: Stables such as Corporation -X, and the HWO were definately a throw back to the old school - when you started did you have ANY idea that youd all improve so much and reach the level of success that you all attained?
Fish: No Idea whatsoever Website guy. I mean, when We first started out, we all pretty much sucked, and I was no exception. As time went on, however, we all started sucking less and less. I'm a little amazed that I can just look at how good we all got in the end.
(Over the years the tide has changed for MANY becw superstars - Unfortunately it sometimes took them YEARS of punishment being a Jobber to finally make it into the limelight)
BECW Website Guy: I agree, In fact BECW was perhaps the finest assembly of ground wrestlers EVER - but I'll get back to that a little later - Who would you consider BECW's MVP or MVP's?
Fish: Well, I think we all had our strengths and weaknesses. Kenny Mac, The Graduate, and Hot Chocolate quickly spring to mind in terms of pure wrestling ability, and Castor Phoenix, Techno, and Sly Tango fell into that category later. Nobody could talk Trash like Huffnagle, although Casino J came close at times. I've always considered myself to be very good at selling moves, and Guys like E-Van, Debaser, Devastator, and XXX were just all-out powerhouses. I guess we were all MVP's, because we all counted on each other to put on the best matches we could.
BECW Website Guy: What in your mind was the worst failed gimmick, and worst stable in BECW history?
Fish: Gimicks...Where to begin on the endless supply of jobbers we came up with? Well, most of our jobbers were entertaining, at the least, but Lotion-Face was my least favorite. I mean c'mon, NOBODY wanted to wrestle the guy! Team Evil was the biggest flop I was ever in. It Had potential, But I think the Name kinda killed it.
BECW Website Guy: haha - I would have to agree with that... Now I know that you travelled all the way down to Maryland (HCW in fact) to continue your fued with The Graduate - what were your thought on being down there as well as your match

Fish: My matched sucked. Plain and Simple. HCW was the first chance I had ever had to wrestle in a ring, and I sucked it up pretty bad. I was WAY outta my league. It was great being down there, meeting all the HCW guys we'd heard so much about, but I think I was too overwhelmed by it all to put on a decent match.
BECW Website Guy: BECW has went through many twists and turns during its run but what are your thought on the introduction of all these new faces and the re-launch of BECW

Fish: I was very skeptical at first. I didn't really know if People like E-Van, Devastator and the like could put on decent matches, but I wanted to fill out our roster, so I accepted. I was very impressed with the desire they showed to work and the willingness they showed towards getting better. Guys like Rufus, Tango, And XXX I was even more skeptical about, because I knew less about them, but I think our "More the Merrier" attitude helped BECW to come back as strongly as it did. I was very satisfied with BECW's relaunch when all was said and done, and I'm a little disapointed that it ended the way that it did.
(BECW's original re-launch)
BECW Website Guy: How would you have liked to see BECW end?
Fish: I think it would have been great if EVERYONE had been able to get together and Wrestle one last show. Some may Argue with me that that's what Round Robin Rampage 2 was, But Not everyone was there, and we didn't know that it would be our last big show.
BECW Website Guy: Now you mention Round Robin Rampage 2, and I'd like to focus on that for a moment - alot of people have gone on record as saying that RRR2 was BECW greatest show ever - what are your thoughts on RRR2 because I know you had a match with KM which will indeed go down in history as one of the greatest BECW title matches ever! and also what was your favorite BECW show?
Fish: RRR2 was probably our best show. We put on some great matches, and I had the fight of my life against Kenny Mack, Where We both walked away bruised, but I walked away as the champion. That was ONE of the best shows we ever put on. Personally, My favorite show was Backyardmania 2. It's the only show that I can really watch the tape of over and over again. Besides, Rufus's Swan Dive got us banned from the property, so It had to be good. That's not even Mentioning the classic Brother Vs. Brother Main Event!!!
VS.
(Fish faced off against Fish in what Many will consider the GREATEST BECW main event ever - those who viewed this match will also say it was perhaps the STIFFEST match ever)
BECW Website Guy: What would you consider your favorite matches in BECW?
Fish: Well, let's see. My best matches would have to include: Big Boss Perry at Backyardmania, Hot Chocolate at a house show for the title (Where I got spiked on my face), Easy E at Chapter 1 (Crappy match, but lots of fun), Devastator at RRR2, Huffnagle at RRR2 (also lots of fun), and of course, my immortal battle with Kenny mack at RRR2.
(Some Moments in Fish's career)
BECW Website Guy: Who in professional wrestling are responsible for alot of your inspiration - or who do u try to model yourself after?
Fish: Ever since he First appeared on the scene, I have been a fan of Kurt Angle. I love the way he plays his persona, it just works too well. I try to Wrestle like Spike Duley though, cuz I'm easy to through around.
BECW Website Guy: Whatre your plans with the future of professional wrestling and with BECW? is there any chance of another re-launch?
Fish: Only if it was in a ring. We've all tasted the sweetness of a real ring, and I don't think any of us would want to go back to the ground. That would be a Huge step down.
(BECW's first taste of a ring in HCW)
BECW Website Guy: What was it like winning the BECW World title at RRR2
Fish: It was intense. I don't think ANYBODY really expected me to win out over Kenny Mac. I mean, He's always been like THE top heel of BECW. We both put on a Tremendous match, though, and I ultimately came out on top. No one was more suprised than me, and I think the look in my eyes after the match just said it all. I had Finally proved to all my fans (both of them) That I had what it took to be a BECW champion.
BECW Website Guy: I agree, you guys are all too good for ground wrestling anymore.... One last question - Sum up you experience in BECW?
Fish: BECW was an expereince I don't think any of us will forget. Personally, It taught me alot of the finer points of wrestling, as well as how to really appreciate the sport. I made some new friends, and got closer to some of my existing ones. BECW is at least partially responsible for making me who I am today. No matter where I go, What I do, I'm always gonna be Fish a little bit.
