Wood grad stages
second musical |
The greatest story ever told comes to life in The Word, a new musical by Bucks County talent, Bill Monaghan, Class of 1988. |

Bill Monaghan's group provided music for the Sunday Mass |
Monaghan is no newcomer to the stage, having directed music for the productions
of Godspell, The Wall, and Brunswick 2057, an original
musical which he co-authored with Tom Feledick, also of the class of '88.
The Word is energetic and upbeat and gives a new twist to the traditional
Gospels. From the African rhythms of the Prologue, which travels
through the Old Testament, to John's baptism of Jesus set to a reggae beat
and from the southern Gospel sound warning of final judgement to the powerful
Resurrection, the music reflects many variations and styles.
The project began at Our Lady of Good Counsel through the efforts of Youth Ministry Coordinator Ann Menna, Pastoral Vicar Fr. Dennis Gill and Pastor Msgr. Bernard Trinity. Menna says: "It is an active way for cast members to grasp their faith and learn from it, and in this activity then bring what they have learned of their faith to others." |
