75. William12 Finney (John13 Fienes, Richard14 Finies, Roger15 Fynes, William16 Fines, William17 Fienes, John18) was born Fynney, or Finney, or Finney Lane, Staffordshire, UK. William died 1584 “in extreme old age” in Finey (or Finney), Staffordshire. His life may have spanned from the very last years of the reign of Edward IV (1461-1483), through the reigns of Richard III (1483), Edward V(1483-1509), Henry VIII (1509-1547), Edward VI (1547-1553), Jane (1553), Mary I (1553-1558), and finally ending during the reign of Elizabeth I (1558-1603).
He resided in Finney, or Finney Lane, Staffordshire, but apparently possessed estates in Warwickshire and Derbyshire, as well.
William Finney had the following children:

Finney. (actually spelled his name “Finnie”), was William’s third son. He lived about the latter end of the reign
of Queen Elizabeth I.

Finney., he “died in 1584 and left an only Daughter Anne his heir, who married
William Colmore of Birmingham”.
“William the eldest had the greatest part of the Estate, and resided at
Cannock or Cank, in Staffordshire”
77 iii. Thomas
Finney. “the second son, was seated at Finney, his late Father’s habitation,
where his Descendents continued till about 1740, when Samuel Finney, the Father
of Fielding Best Finney, Surgeon, at Leek, sold that and his other Estates.”
78 iv. Roger
Finney. “settled in Staffordshire, and had Issue.”
79 v. James
Finney. also “settled in Staffordshire, and had Issue.”
