Obi-Wan Kenobi Profile
EPISODE I: THE PHANTOM MENACE
Obi-Wan Kenobi, who is in his mid-twenties, is the Padawan learner of the Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn. They are called upon by Supreme Chancellor Valorum to be ambassadors and to negotiate a treaty to end the Trade Federation's blockade of the planet Naboo.
When TC-14 tells Nute Gunray that the ambassadors are Jedi Knights, the viceroy blows up the Jedi's ship and tries to kill the Jedi. The Jedi escape the attack of the Battle Droids and Droidekas. They come upon an invasion, masterminded by Darth Sidious, and escape on the Federation's landing ships.
Soon Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon come upon Jar Jar Binks, a Gungan, and he leads them to Otoh Gunga. There they meet Boss Nass and he sends the Jedi and Jar Jar to Theed in a Bongo. After escaping an Opee, a Colo Clawfish, and a Sando Aqua Monster, they reach Theed and save Queen Amidala from Battle Droids. The Queen and the Jedi, as well as Captain Panaka, Ric Olie, and several Naboo soldiers, escape in the Queen's ship but need to make an emergency landing on Tatooine.
Obi-Wan stays on the ship. He monitors Anakin Skywalker's midichlorian count and meets Anakin for the first time when the ship is taking off.
At Coruscant, Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon take Anakin to the Jedi Council. There the council felt that Anakin should not be trained and the Jedi leave.
When the crew arrives back at Naboo (on the Queen's advice) they start a major battle. The Jedi and the Naboo Security forces clear out the hanger. There Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon run into Darth Maul and start battling him with their lightsabers. Qui-Gon and Darth Maul rush ahead of Obi-Wan. The laser gates close behind them and Obi-Wan watches his master die. With the Force as his ally, Obi-Wan manages to defeat Darth Maul. He promises his dying master that he will train Anakin.
The council grants Obi-Wan permission to train Anakin. Obi-Wan stays on Naboo for Qui-Gon's funeral and the celebration of peace between the Naboo and the Gungans.
EPISODE IV: A NEW HOPE
Obi-Wan, now in his early sixties, lives on Tatooine in his own little hut. One day he meets up with Anakin's son, Luke Skywalker, and begins Luke's training. Obi-Wan and Luke travel to Mos Eisley with Luke's two droids. There they find transport to Alderaan.
When they get to Alderaan's coordinates, however, the only thing they find is an Imperial space station. Obi-Wan Kenobi shuts down the tractor beam but fails to make it back to the ship. He gets in a battle with Darth Vader, his former pupil, and allows himself to be killed.
Obi-Wan remains with Luke in spirit and guides Luke to blow up the spacestation.
EPISODE V: THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK
Obi-Wan appears to Luke and tells him to go to Dagobah, to meet with his former master Yoda. Luke goes and Obi-Wan reappears to Luke there, warning Luke not to go to Bespin to save his friends. There Luke finds out the truth, that Darth Vader is really his father, Anakin Skywalker.
EPISODE VI: RETURN OF THE JEDI
When Luke comes back to Dagobah, Obi-Wan tells Luke another secret. Luke's sister is really Princess Leia Organa. On Endor, after Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine are dead, Obi-Wan appears to Luke for a final time, along with Yoda and Anakin Skywalker.
