Shenenberger Sees USA-Made Being the Way of America Again and Soon
Retail consultant J. Gregory Shenenberger says USA-made is back to meaning something and that will only grow.
“Our quality is back, and in a big way.”
“Ford is a driving force behind this. So is the unfortunate pain and suffering that was experienced in the Great Recession. We all paid a price, and from workers to buyers, we all learned a valuable lesson.”
Other factors are contributing to the march.
“China is seeing 15% increases in wages. Those wages will double in the next few years, and that will come with an extreme penalty on quality. Then there are the freight and steel prices. On top of that, returns issues, and the freight associated with that. It’s a wow factor, and while none of us wish ill-will on China, it's America first.”
The other side says the American companies that moved to China will simply look elsewhere.
“They could, and they will. Pakistan. Indonesia. Malaysia. All possibilities. However, consumers are also more conscious; more conscious because of what has been and more conscious because of the media exploiting companies who exploit and run from America and its structure and its tax base. Americans used to overlook that to an extent. Not anymore.”
“Life is cyclical, and so is business. It’s the United States’ time to shine… again. Watch the value of the dollar as all of this happens, together.”
