China seems to be embracing the idea of high speed passenger travel fairly rapidly. Many different examples can be found all over China. Most of these trains seem to be in a permenant e.m.u. form with one cab at each end of the train but with one actual locomotive. While I never really saw any high speed passenger travel around the mid/northern regions of China on my first visit, there was plenty in the south around Shenzhen. Quite a few of these trains connect with Hong Kong.
Here is the ABB X2000 tilting train. This train belongs to the Guanshen Railway Company and runs from Hong Kong To Ghanzhou. These pictures were taken on May 12, 2001 at Fanling, HKSAR.

Here is the ABB X2000 at Shenzhen, China, going to Hong Kong, and the second photo is on the same day on its return trip to Ghanzhou, seen through a Shenzhen park.
This e.m.u. set is classified as the DJJ "Lanjian" (Blue Arrow). It is capable of cruising at speed of 264 kph.
