On the last day in Jing Peng, we started at Reshui with Mr. Li’s group. The first train was heading for Daban. After this train had passed through Galadesitai passing loop, another double header already waiting at the loop train pulled out and we chased this train as far as Xiakengzi. January 20, 1999.

Here are two freight trains at Shangdian. These were the last trains we saw on the 18th of January in Jing Peng.

Some beautiful shots of a double header near Ha Ta Shan. January 19, 1999.

Another train heading for Jing Peng crosses over the famous Simingyi viaduct with a mixed freight on the 18th of January 1999.

Here is a double header led by 6998 at Reshui with a coal train crossing the Reshui viaduct. 18th of January.

The most incredible sight in Jing Peng is summarised by the first photo of this series. I couldn’t get the numbers, but honestly, for a shot like this, who needs them?! January 18 1999.

This is the last train I could get on film at the Jing Peng Pass, 20th of January 1999. I got this shot off from outside the restaurant we ate at in Reshui. No film left in the camera where there was two QJ’s running light at Galadesitai, the only light running engines we saw! Maybe next time…
