Matilde Severi is, above all a landscape painter.
She considers herself a follower of the Macchiaioli School,
which had its beginnings in mid-eighteenth century Florence.
A native of Tuscany, Matilde Severi draws on the glorious lights and shadows of central Italy
as inspiration for her joyful countrysides and village scenes. She has
participated in many exhibitions, as well as holding one-woman-shows, to good critical acclaim.
