What Are We Doing?
As I look around the neighborhood today
I see all the things we've worked for decay
As our world falls apart, followed by sadness
All the fun is gone, there is no more gladness
Misery, defeat, death, hate, and not a friend
To help you put this hate to an end
We are all different, this you must see
Death and destruction is hatred's fee
We'll never make it if we all walk away
Never to face what we must someday
We should all care about whatever we can
For we're being killed, man by man
Our future is doomed if we can't set this straight
If all we do is kill, then that is our fate
So what if that boy has skin unlike yours?
Does that make you a wolf, killing on all fours?
Because that's what you are, an animal, a dog
If you think that you're right when you're really wrong
Diversity is what makes our country what it is
"An American Mosaic" of people and kids
"The Melting Pot Of America" where everyone blends
We all 'melt' together, love has no end
Finally, Utopia, our country will be
And once and for all, humanity will be free.
