On 04/17/99 my boyfriend Jason took me to go see Cats for my birthday. It
was amazing!!!The cast was amazing. Here's some highlights...
- During Mr. Mistoffelees's song, he started singing and with the help of Rum Tum Tugger
was going to dance without that jacket on. Well, Tugger pulled the jacket off and Misto
went to dance in the center of the stage, but he couldn't move. His hand was stuck in the
jacket sleeve! He continued to sing, not losing a beat, as he and Tugger attempted to free
his arm. Finally he was freed and he picked up in his dancing like nothing had happened.
It was amazing how well he recovered!!
- Something I thought was cute...after Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer's song, they stood up
above the car trunk, took each other's hands and Mungo gave Rumple a kiss. :)
- In the beginning of The Rumpus Cat's song, Sillibub and Victoria were sitting in the
lefthand corner. For some reason I was watching them instead of Munkustrap, and Victoria
took her tail and slid it back and forth on the floor. Sillibub started pawing at it. It
was SOOOOOOO cute. :) :) :)
- During the Rumpus Cat's song, I took the binoculars (we were second tier balcony!) to
get a good look at his mask. He looked like an EVIL RAT!!! Has anyone else been to Cats
and seen the same thing? He looked NOTHING like the video. He looked really creepy, and
not like a cat at all.
- Jennyanydots literally ROLLED out of the oven to enter the stage. :)
- Griddlebone flipped off Growltiger while he was singing and ignoring her. I don't know
if she was *supposed* to do it, or if it was just whim, but it was still funny.
- The woman who played Griddlebone/Jellylorum lives fifteen minutes from my boyfriend's
house. :) :) :)
- Rumpleteazer also played a kitten, and when she was a kitten she had a white costume
with very light brown and orange stripes. When she was Rumpleteazer, she looked like she a
darker costume that covered her kitten
