I traveled to San Francisco in November 2002 the week prior to Thanksgiving to teach a "Tools and Techniques" seminar for the Institute of Internal Auditors. It was a great class...one of the best group of participants I have ever had. I also vacationed for three days after the seminar with my brother who lives in San Jose. The seminar was held at the Hoter Nikko in the Theater District. I love to walk and on the Saturday after the seminar I walked from the hotel down Stockton Street to Chinatown, then to Coit Tower on Telegraph Hill, Fisherman's Warf, Gheridelli Square, out Van Ness Avenue and Market Street to the Castro, and finally back to the hotel. What a walk, but this route avoids most hills.
