Congratulations to Collective Soul, whose smash single "Heavy" has set a new record for the number of times a single was played on radio in one week. Collective Soul's eighth #1 rock radio hit, "Heavy" was played 6,057 times last week!! That staggering number beat out the previous record of 6,027 set by Metallica earlier this year. Collective Soul and Metallica are the only artists to ever cross the 6,000 plays threshold in rock radio. Meanwhile, "Run," which is featured on the soundtrack to "Varsity Blues" -- and, like "Heavy," on the Georgia quintet's new album, "DOSAGE" -- remains firmly stationed in the Modern AC, Adult Top 40, Pop Radio charts.

In their February 18th issue, Rolling Stone enthuses "They've sustained their R&B- and pop-inflected rock with a rare naturalness," adding "Songs range from fleet and hard ("Heavy") to terrifically mellow ("Dandy Life") to haunting("Run") and when Collective Soul uncork a little vintage Queen ("Compliment") or Bowie-Eno ("Slow"), they do it like the pros they are."
